Never been ...but going next week. Do you think I could sneak some snacks in with my water bottles in a medium size soft cooler into the park? I hear the food is not great and they nickel and dime you on it. I mean I will probably get the kids and ice cream cone but do not feel like schilling out $3.00 for a bottle of water.

I snuck in food last summer. I was a gluten free vegetarian and wrapped some snacks in the towels.

You are not allowed to bring food in, they check your bag, and will dig around and make you unwrap your towels, etc. if they suspect food. The only thing you can bring in is sealed water. If your water is open, they make you toss it. Some of the bag checkers are more thorough than others. You definitely cannot bring a cooler.
I actually like their food options. But, it's pricey. You can leave the cooler in your car and go outside to eat and go back in.

Re: Splish Splash
I went a lot last year and I have the back pack diaper bag I would use. I always had my water bottle and sometimes little snacks at the bottom of the bag and no one ever said anything. They definitely saw my regular water bottle sometimes too, but I was preggo at the time and needed a lot of water so I didn't even think twice about it. Definitely don't bring a regular cooler in because that would be a red flag.

you wont be able to bring the cooler in. And may make you throw out food if they catch it. We bring a cooler with lunch and leave it in the car then go out to the car to eat and go back in. They will stamp you so you can go back in

Re: Splish Splash
We have season passes and there is NO WAY I'd pay for food every time we go. We pack a lunch, snacks, etc. and leave the park to eat at the picnic tables or lift the hatch of our SUV and eat there. LOTS of people do it. If you're ever there in the afternoon people even have towels and blankets laid out and have picnics right there in the parking lot.

Yep this!! We just started going, but someone told me the best time was late afternoon bc of camps anyway. So you could eat lunch at home or in car, go to splish splash and leave right before dinner. Maybe just buy an ice cream or snack inside. I only live 15 minutes away so I understand for others they want to make a full day of it, but 12-6ish is a full day to me.
