Dance School Suffolk 3 year old
Hi - wanted to try DD in ballet class she is 3 1/2 we live in South Setuaket any recommendations?

Marchand's is great for that age. They are SO nice and SO good with the little kids. The studio is SUPER cute also! My daughter went there when she was little

Why don't you try a combo class (ballet/tap) this summer? That Shine looks really cute. They even have a princess dance camp thats very reasonably priced.
"IF" you see she's really into it.. than I would start her early & take her to the best.. East Coast Dance Artists in Smithtown. MINDBLOWING!!!
I am in Queens & my 10 yr old is in competitive dance now for 3 years (we started like you)
They are by far, our biggest competition.
Never-Ever have I seen directors sooooo dedicated, innovative & encouraging.
Reading this, you might think I'm crazy, but most kids find their passion early on. Be it soccer, lacross, cheer, dance, etc.
Sadly the years fly by quickly & if I could turn back time.. I would have started out with a school that would offer my daughter the best teaching skills & foundation Day 1.
ETA: I have absolutely no stake in this school, just VERY impressed every competition season.

I know a lot of people like TJE dance in Port Jeff.
My daughter was at East Coast Dance Artists in Smithtown last year and we weren't too happy with them for the younger kids so we switched.
There are a lot of dance schools out there. Good luck!

Sorry your experience wasn't so great at East Coast. You are absolutely right, TJE is Fierce! Talented dancers with amazing team spirit.
But then again, I only know what I see at competitions & have competed against both.

TJE is amazing. My girls dance at the Holbrook location and truly love it. From their combo classes to their competition classes their recitals are fantastic. They offer summer classes too so you can try it and see if your daughter likes it. Join their fb page to see what times register for summer classes are because they aren't open everyday in the summer.

I'm curious how much do you pay for a recital ticket? If you don't mind sharing. And what's the average cost of the costumes? I'm frustrated that my dd's keeps going up every year and I think it's crazy at $30 a ticket. But if that's the going rate I'd feel better... otherwise we are looking for a new school

Recital tickets were $30 this year which is pricey but the show is excellent and I don't mind paying it. My girls were in 2 shows each though so it added up. Costumes ranged from $60-$90

$22.50 for recital.
( $20 bucks a ticket + $2.50 processing fee we pick our own seats on line) 4 shows.
Costumes $80- $150 but I don't mind, she wears them at least 10 times each.

My girls attend Encore Dance Academy. They have studios in Holbrook and Kings Park. We love the teachers and staff so much. You can take a trial class at either location. I think they also run specials for their summer classes.
The recital tickets were $26 this year and it's held at the Patchogue Theater. Amazing show. And we do fundraising to offset the costs of the tickets.
Costumes were 70-90 and were also offset by a fundraiser.

Our current dance school is cheap, but is none of the ones mentioned here. $45 a month for first class, each additional half price, and unlimited for $135. Siblings half price. Costumes like $65, and recital tickets are $20. If your kid is in two shows, they are $15 each for tickets.

LI academy of dance. They have miller place and lake grove locations.
DD did a year at Shine and she learned nothing. And they do a winter and spring recital which was too much imo.
