September Birthday Party

Hi Mom's,

Hoping for some advice. My DD is starting K in September. I am planning her September bday party now. I was going to invite her Pre K class as they are all in another activity together and will remain friends. However, 2 of these girls will also be in her K class. I have no idea how many other girls will be in the class and I really can't afford to go crazy. But I also don't want to alienate the other kids/parents.
So my question is do I just host at my house and hope for good weather and allow room for extra kids? Or just book it out and stick to my limit of 12, too bad if only 2 kids from her actual K class are invited?

TIA

Re: September Birthday Party

Book it at the place.
Nobody will know or care.
I personally never knew if DD wasn't invited to a classmate's party or if they just weren't having one.
To be honest I never gave it a second thought.

Do what's best for you.

Have it at the place. You can't always invite every kid you know to every party. My oldest is going into 1st, there was no way he was invited to 20 birthday parties this past year, so I am sure he was excluded from some. Never thought twice about it. Don't worry about it.

Re: September Birthday Party

DS bday is in september and its such a hard time of year. One year, I had it at the end (his bday is sept 11). I think its a nice way to get to know the parents of the kids in the class. If there is a way for you to do it in a place which allows more kids, that is always good. But I wouldn't go crazy.

My DD has a mid September birthday. Now that she is older it is easier to just invite her close friends. When she was in kindergarten we just invited my friends' kids and preschool classmates. We didn't invite people from her class. Since she will know two of the girls in her class I would say stick with your original plan and just invite those two girls. I always remind DD not to hand out invitations in front of the other kids and don't talk about the party to kids who are not invited.
