ants in my dishwasher...

Dh sprayed all around the outside perimeter of the kitchen, including where the dishwasher connects to the outside. Everytime i open the diswasher, i see ants all inside of it. How do we get rid of them???

edited because i wrote aunts instead of ants LOL. I'm very distraught over this and can't spell apparently

Re: ants in my dishwasher...

I had this problem and it was more than DH could handle.
It was my dishwasher and the cabinet next to it

I now have terminix. When they inspected the house - there were thousands of them in the basement under the floorboards along the perimeter of the house. Especially under the kitchen where I was seeing them.

They come every 2 months. It took a few weeks to fully kick in and now I can't live without the service lol. I never want to go back to those days of ants all the time.

I feel your pain. I wish I had a magic answer but exterminator was the only thing that worked long term. I used to use the Terri traps. Which "seemed" to help here and there but in the end - I had to call for help

I'd get an exterminator. Ants are VERY tricky to get rid of.

they like water so that will be hard to get rid of without professionals I think. Just had my guy here b/c we are seeing them randomly in the house.

Just call an exterminator. We had the worst ant problem this year. I thought we'd come back from vacation with our house over run by ants! I also had them in the dishwasher. But turns out there were two huge ant hills right outside my house, behind the dishwasher, and that's where they were coming from. Took a few days after the guy sprayed to really work. I've had call him about once a month since.

He's local to Merrick area. His name is Brian Schloss. I believe it was 100 for the initial visit and 35 for each additional call. I called him back a bunch of times and he didn't charge me 2x when the calls were close together and it took him a few tries to get rid of the problem. Even came at 6am once before we left for work.
