I always find it funny when people who complained about everything Obama did for 8 years now get all twisted when the person they elected gets criticized.... THAT'S entertaining!

I didn't complain when Obama.got elected. Like every other President he had some good moments and some bad ones. My life changed very little in his 8 years.

I want to be enlightened, what good do you think he has done? As for tax reform, if the Republican Party gets rid of the state and local tax deduction, your taxes will increase. Basically, if you make 90-180k a year, which most LIF make your taxes would go up under the republican plan.

You obviously missed the sarcasm of my original post. I am surprised that there aren't 100 threads on Melania wearing heels on the plane o fly to Texas. And finding fault in every little thing.
There is nothing negative in this post. I was just pointing out that there was no conversation about a lot of important things lately. Many of which I think have been handled well.
Don't feel sorry for me. The comedy comes from the fact that you (the collective you) can't possible see any good in this administration because you hate this man.
You think it's funny that we can't see the "good" in this "man"? As if there is any. You are so condescending and rude, it's unreal. I think we are so overloaded with all the outrageous, racist, ridiculous things this ******* and family have done, I can't keep up.
Get lost and go stir the pot somewhere else.

Re: Quiet here these days
Like minded people - don't even bother with this type of nonsense.
There's too much work to do.
I know many of us are resisting - keep it up!!
Just yesterday I was at the rally to defend DACA in Hicksville. These are INNOCENT people who did nothing wrong, have no criminal records, and are productive members of society. They would never have gotten DACA protection if that wasn't the case. And Agent Orange is playing with their lives.
Write postcards. Make calls. Do your thing and try to ignore this stuff.

Wow, you have people who are seriously concerned about their future and the future of their country and this is entertainment for you? You both really need either to grow up or not procreate because we don't need more jerks like you in society.

Re: Quiet here these days
I do not need to grow up. You and this group are not the only ones concerned about this country. It's entertaining to read because everyone seems so angry and no matter what Trump does, he's an awful human being. He could find the cure for cancer and people will protest in favor of cancer.
I get that people are upset that he won/Hillary lost, I felt that way during 8 years of Obama. But I didn't let it take over my life completely. I am getting screwed on Obamacare. My parents, who are much older, got seriously screwed due to Obamacare. Thank God my dad is a retired NYPD officer and was able to go back to his coverage there. Yet, in all fairness, I know people who have benefited from it. It's a mess, it needs to be fixed. I have dr friends and pharmacists who see the other side of it too. How to fix, I'm not sure....but it does need it.
As far as Trump...I don't love him. I don't like how he tweets. I'm not on Twitter, but yes, I hear about it from my liberal friends. But I think he does it because he know the media hates him and he feels he needs to get what he feels is the truth out. But I don't like Hillary and could not vote for her. She had the liberal media on her side and I think that's why people are shocked she lost. Trump is far from perfect, I'm not defending him 100%, but I don't plan on having him over to my house for dinner, I just want him to make this country better. Obama put us in a ton of debt and there are other issues I am hoping for change on, but I must leave this party and go back to work. I know, I voted for Trump, I'm a deplorable, racist, etc...
Have a great day everyone and I hope things get better for all of us...especially those poor people affected by the hurricanes.

Based on this response, you don't need to grow up. These are legitimate concerns but dismissing other people's concerns as a source of entertainment for you is insulting and immature. I hope to see more posts like this one from you, which sets out reasons for your position because it is only from understanding another's point of view can we move ahead. However, it would be helpful if you didn't discredit yourself or your positions by making silly statements "entertainment" posts like you did earlier.

Thank you and I apologize if I insulted anyone. I have several friends and family who oppose my ideas, but I don't put them down for it. We just don't discuss it together!!
I have to admit, although I don't come on here often (there was a long gap of time between posts prior to recently), I guess my reply was mostly because I feel a bit intimidated by the overwhelming amount of people who hate him on here. But that's ok, it's why I don't post often and just read :) Thanks, have a good day!!

Re: Quiet here these days
What I find entertaining is that people on this board are so fully of hatred for this man that they can't see anything beyond that. Many people had this same problem when Obama got elected. It didn't matter what the man did they just hated on him.
I think it is interesting because you (collective) couldn't bash Trump on the handling of the Hurricane in Texas, nothing gets said. He donates money and it is him grandstanding or it isn't true or it isn't enough. I have mentioned many times what I am hopeful about with Trump. There are things that I think were good and got blown up on this board because people don't agree.
A simple one was getting out of the Paris agreement. Everyone here was up in arms about it. When posed questions like what programs will get cancelled or what besides the optics of it are you worried about, there were no answers. Just anger.
When we discussed the roll back of Dodd-Frank. People jumped to criticize yet when asked about specifics there were answers like I am not a business major. Nobody could come up with a reason why it is bad to get rid of it but they are mad it is happening.
The man is flawed. As were most of presidents. When Obama got elected I remember reading on here how people need to get over it and saying people that hate him will never see anything good. That is what we are living on here now. The difference now is that if you happen to agree with something the President does you are called a racist or some other horrible name (which is why so few will post) People keep talking about resisting. I would bet 90% of the people that come here to complain have done zero in regards to actual action. When the woman's rallies were happening the question was "Is there a LI one because the city is too far." Resisting by convenience? So yes some things are comical here.
I applaud the way the hurricane has been handled. I have friends that were impacted by Katrina and Sandy who wished it was handled as well back then. I hope that Florida can be helped just as quick. FEMA is running out of money so something has to change. The only response on here were angry he doesn't get props for doing his job. We aren't handing out participation trophies.

Re: Quiet here these days
Not quoting due to length but @Jenhos:
I should take my own advice but let me just say this: I am well equipped to have a conversation about Dodd Frank and the Paris Climate agreement - particularly the former as I have an Economics degree and teach it as well. I am sure there are others on here who can analyze these issues as well.
If those conversations haven't happened yet, please know that at least part of the reason is that no one for a split second thinks that you want to do anything other than laugh, poke fun, speak with condescension, and insult people. Because that's pretty much all you have done.
You have behaved - by your own admission - as a shit stirrer, and contribute pretty much nothing else.
You post no links, no facts. Just soundbites. "Obamacare is failing." "He handled the hurricane well." Huh? No.
If that changes, I assure you, there is nothing that I enjoy more than a good debate and I'll be one of the first ones to participate. But I doubt you'll change your behavior.

Quiet here these days
Stop assuming that my hatred for Trump is a result of Hillary's loss. That's ignorant. History speaks for itself. i have said it before, and I will say it again. He is in this for himself. He is not a republican, democrat, or moderate. He is a dealmaker who feels that this country can be run like a business. We are not a corporation. We are people. With feelings.

I 100% totally agree!!! Trump is nothing more than a self serving pig with a base knowledge of how our democratic government operates. He thinks he can be a big "tough guy" and bully everyone into doing exactly what he wants however, there is a HUGE difference between being the president of a COMPANY and the president of a COUNTRY. He didn't seem to get that memo. He is in over his head.

Re: Quiet here these days
Are we permitted to discuss the fact that his public statements to the nation essentially consist of "tweets," and that he is fighting the NFL with the energy and platform that he should be using to help our citizens Puerto Rico?
Can we also discuss that these tweets are juvenile and inflaming a situation that may very well lead to nuclear war on our continent?
North Korea just called an attack on us "inevitable."
This is not entertaining. This has nothing to do with Hillary. We need an adult leader to employ tactical diplomacy and to avoid nuclear war at all costs. Someone to reassure us and the world that our kids will live to see the end of the year.
We do not need someone whose ego is so fragile that his temper and petty revenge are all that matters. We do not need someone who blusters on a medium that really shouldn't be used for official communications. We need informed, researched, tempered strategies, adult communication to us and the world, and reassurance, delivered by an adult who can avoid unnecessary provocation.
I never cared that much about Hillary. I was always scared of this. Read the headlines, and get past the pettiness we're seeing on this board.
I am not amused.
