Video game - release date?
If a video game is set to be released on 9/15, will I be able to go to Target or GameStop on that day to pick it up?

Gamestop will be your best bet as Target may not open the box when it released or just be sitting in the back. Depends on the game and demand.
Some systems you can buy via the system if online and start downloading it overnight and even start playing it as it downloads.

Thanks. It's for my nephew and we are celebrating his birthday on the same day as the release date, so I'm hoping to be able to give him the game. I'll try GameStop on Friday. I was planning on pre-ordering because I thought I wouldn't be available, but just saw that the release date is the same day as his party.

I would preorder from either gamestop or bestbuy. They often throw in free add-ons.
The best bets with video games are to either preorder so you get it on arrival with freebies. Or just wait it out until the hype dies down and get them cheaper.
