Is it me? Or did the holidays sneak up?

I have been battling a TON of health issues but I feel like all of a sudden it's time to Christmas shop and it's seriously bumming me out.

They always do.
And they also start earlier and earlier every year, so you feel behind if you aren't done by mid Nov.
Still plenty of time though-don't buy into the media hype.

I was looking at my mail and asked why people are already hammering me with Black Friday sales. My hubby just put his hand on my hand and said "Babe, that's next week" ah crap.

I spent literally the last two Mondays in Hospitals. Two weeks of Tuesday - Friday trying to catch up on work and prepare for day off work (now holiday). House repair went sideways and so wrong that I have warranty repair coming in today. I have had my spring in my garage break on my husband while his car was stuck inside and had to pay for emergency repair. Medical bills got so high I'm officially past ALL deductibles (in network, out of network, out of pocket max and nearly at full family amount just on ME).

I just want to take a week off and sleep *sigh*

I know exactly what to buy AJ. Hubby's gift is absolutely impossible to find. Me? You know what I want?

I want a vacation. Just a few days away from doctors, test results, restrictions, guidelines, deadlines, meetings, schedules, report cards, homework and bills (of all natures).

It hurts to cough hard, I have to pay attention to every ache, food intake, scale check, blood result and still be there for my kid's choir concerts, girl scout events, homework and essays. Let's not forget work and all the pressure of that. The going joke there is "Don't die, you have work to do".

Now Christmas?! ugh!
I actually went to see Bad Moms 2 after one of my medical procedures. LOL

It's our new normal. Every medical procedure that requires me a driver, we go see a movie after I'm fully aware. Last time was Murder on the Orient Express because we spent 7hours in a hospital for my liver biopsy. :)

I told him already if I get a CT I'm seeing Justice League. LOL. We've already seen Wonder on Wednesday as a family! Movies are the one place no one stares at medical bands and bandages.

Can you and DH agree to not exchange gifts this year?
DH and I just decided to do that for the first time and it is feels so damn good!
One less thing to worry about shopping for AND spend money on

We are going to focus our buying and spending on DD. We both just enjoy seeing her get so excited for Christmas and her gifts. To us, that is what Christmas is all about.

When we want something, we buy it. We realized it's silly to stress over and buy gifts for each other when it all comes from the same bank acct anyway.

We might buy tix to a Broadway show or something and make that our gift to each other- but not sure yet.

I *THOUGHT* we agreed no gifts for the anniversary and my birthday. I instead got a R2D2 purse and photo holder. he got nothing for his bday or anniversary. Who feels terrible? *sigh*

Yes. And you should definitely do no gifts for you and DH! We have been doing this for years and it is SO nice not to have to worry about getting him a present. We focus on the kids, and we don't miss exchanging gifts between us one bit.

I feel like this year has flown.

And I can't believe Thanksgiving is less than a week away.

But, they are rushing the holidays along, you still have time. I've randomly ordered some things online (I've had time to browse and saw some good prices). And I started my list of who to buy for - because I always forget someone (like a religion teacher or something).

And definitely don't exchange gifts with DH - DH and I don't do it and it's great. We just do things like go to concerts or on vacations during the year.

Ugh they creep up! It’s the twins first Christmas and I’ve had a crazy amount of shopping this year because our family grew like crazy. AND some how I’m hosting thanksgiving with 10 month old twins

i host christmas day each year, and still have no idea what i'm making.
have no gifts bought, don't even have an idea what to get.

i DO have DH's 40th birthday (which is a year and a half away) almost half planned though. go figure!
