Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
Just wondering, how old was your baby/child the first time you were alone all night with him/her without your spouse (either because spouse was working, had an overnight trip, etc).

Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
Almost 8 weeks old. DH has a business trip to Vegas for 6 days. I had a lot of help from my family, but it was the longest 6 days of my life.

Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
3 weeks My dh worked nights back then, so I was alone with dd 5 nights a week the entire night from 7pm -5am , and then I was alone with her most of the day as well since dh was sleeping. Needless to say, I was beyond exhausted and overwhelmed. I had no help either from any one, so I really was on my own except for the few hours between when dh woke up when he left for work.

Re: Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
DH often works overnight. Did as soon as I was out of the hospital. Overnight with babies stink... DH being around didn’t really help. I have to get up, change, feed, burp, etc.

Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
With dd it was 4 months, with ds under a month.
That being said, dh often gets home after my kids are asleep (since birth), and never got up once during the night for either kid since i nursed.

My DH very rarely helped at night since I EBF so it made no difference.

2 weeks and he would go away for days. He is a pilot so there was no way to avoid it.

Re: Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
About a month, he works overnights a few times a week but was lucky enough to time his vacation with their birth. If it wasn't twins he probably would not have changed his vacation to coincide and it probably would have been a week.

Re: Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
Less than 24 hours. It was horrible. City hospital didn’t allow DH to sleep over.
I survived but barely.
Good luck - totally different when baby is a bit older and you are physically recovered from the birth.

My husband never stayed over in the hospital. I actually had roommates who had their husbands stay over and it was very uncomfortable for me to have a strange man in the room. I don't think it should be allowed unless you have a private room.
So, not counting the hospital stay the first time I was alone overnight was probably when my son was 10 months.

My DH didn’t stay over either, but since I had a staff of nurses on call at the push of a button, I didn’t really feel “alone”. It was probably 5 months with #1 and 6 weeks with #2.

Your first night alone with baby (w/o SO)
She was old, like 18 months. DH doesn't travel for work and declined any travel plans with friends when she was really young. I couldn't care less if he traveled now, but he gets upset if he goes an entire day without seeing DD. He had an early meeting and then a holiday party after work the other day and he was bummed.
I don't know what I would have done if I had been the only one getting up with her. I give you ladies whose husbands work nights a lot of credit.
