Snow Boots?

This storm made me realize I didn't buy winter boots yet. What do your kids wear to school when it's snowy? My Kindergartner takes the bus, from the front of our house, so I don't think I'd ever really need to send her in snow boots. She wears sneakers to school every day. Not sure if I should buy her low boots, like hiking style for snowy school days.

Snow Boots?

Dd has the crocs winter puff boots. They're super lightweight so she can wear them comfortably all day. I've been buying the same ones for a few years and she's worn them to preschool the last two years. I just have to find out if they're okay for gym days but she'll definitely wear them other days when it snows.

We do have a pair of boots per kid. We like the Kamik brand and have been able to find them on sale every year.
They do need it in snow and slush for about 2-3 months.
They do have to change into sneakers when in school (we send sneakers in a bag in the backpack).

DD is allowed to play outside in the snow during recess so long as she has snow pants, hat, gloves, and winter boots, so I buy them every year.

I buy snow boots and she never wears them. She wears sneakers or Uggs. So i stopped wasting money.
She never goes out to play in the snow either. She refuses because she hates being cold and wet.
So it's pretty much a waste for us.

Snow Boots?

For going to school - DC wear sneakers. They have recess on the blacktop when it's snowy and the school makes sure it's clear of snow.
They only wear their boots when playing in the snow.

We have snow boots to play in the snow, but she doesn't wear them to school. If it's snowy on the playground, they don't typically go out, since that means it's probably icy and that = danger lol
