Cheap cupcakes
Does anyone know where I can buy cheap frosted cupcakes that actually taste good?
I need some for my son's birthday and already ordered some decorations on Etsy. Why are cupcakes so expensive?!
TIA
*prefer Nassau or Queens

Sam's Club and BJ's usually has 30 in a box. They taste good and can be catered to fit your theme.

Re: Cheap cupcakes
I've ordered cake from BJs, it was like $17 for a custom Sesame Street cake! It was delicious and super cheap so I can't imagine the cupcakes being much more

Re: Cheap cupcakes
Thank you so much, I'll try them too! Any brand in particular? Or just whatever they have in the plastic container in the bakery section?

We get the peanut free ones from Stop and Shop and they're really good. They're usually decorated according to the season (so they might be winter or Valentine right now).

It's not really decorations. Just a color frosting to go with the season and some sprinkles maybe

Oh man, pink frosting definitely won't go with my cars, trucks, and planes theme! I'll still swing by there, but will probably have to go with BJs

Re: Cheap cupcakes
I think you would have to call and request them plain. I would just make them yourself though since you ordered the decorations for them already. $1.50 for a box of Betty Crocker, which is pretty tasty

Re: Cheap cupcakes
You know, you are so right, and I do only need 2 dozen.
I used to bake cupcakes for birthdays all the time, BEFORE I had 2 under 2, lol.
I would still like to try though. I wonder if I make them the night before, and leave them out under one of those cake domes if that would be ok?
I'm gonna do a test run, thanks for the suggestion (obviously no sleep isn't helping my common sense, lol)

I always make cupcakes and cover them then frost the next day!

Same for me - DS has a nut allergy so I can't buy sheet cakes from stores. So I usually make the cupcakes the night before, store on the counter in Tupperware that closes so they don't go stale, and frost the next day. I usually buy toppers that go along with the theme - Party City has a wide selection of themes.

Re: Cheap cupcakes
I tried Stop and shops last night and they were ok. I did think they were on the smaller side though (maybe it's just me!) Maybe they'd be bigger if I order them.
Definitely going to try BJs today.
Thanks for all of the suggestions and input everyone!
