Re: Air Fryer Foods

It's very hit or miss.

I use a little spray oil and put the ingredients in the basket, push it in and wait a bit.

Mine has buttons for chicken, other meats, etc.

Chicken takes about 20-30 mins depending on thickness. Halfway through turn it over.

I've made kale chips and a few other things as well.

I think the name throws people off because I don't eat a lot of fried food....BUT I use it instead of baking and that saves time and increases the juiciness/crispiness.

Pros:
- keeps food very moist with little or no oil
- cooks much faster than an oven
-clean up is easy. Not dishwasher but mine washes up very easily.

Cons:
-smallish basket makes food for a party difficult. I made wings for another couple and just did a few batches.
-takes up space of course

Overall, I like it. But I like kitchen gadgets and I'm always trying to find better ways to cook healthy/low oils.

I find it hit or miss too.

I have a Phillips one with temperature. I'm trying to perfect a french fry. I tried zucchini chips the other day and they were just ok... Got panko breadcrumbs so I will try again.

I did air fry chicken breasts the other night with whole wheat breadcrumbs and they were pretty good - tasted close to a chicken finger.
