Cat losing hair
Our 13 yr old cat is losing hair behind the legs. The skin isn’t red or irritated and she doesn’t appear to be bothered by it-any thoughts as to what’s going on???
She’s also been extremely friendly these days. Let’s the kids pet her, pick her up, hangs out with us..:she was always skittish and kept to herself and NEVER hung around the kids. Now she looks for them! So strange...
She’s eating, drinking and using the litter box as normal.

Re: Cat losing hair
She could be over grooming and essentially licking the hair off in that area. do you notice her grooming more than usual?

Re: Cat losing hair
I'd take her to the vet for bloodwork to rule out thyroid issues, unless you notice excessive grooming. Might be skin mites.
My cat pulled out her fur at her old home when she was extremely stressed. The vet diagnosed it as allergies, but once she came to live with me, she stopped the pulling and never showed signs of allergies. Had a naked tail and front paws.
