Has anyone leased a Ford Explorer recently?
What do you pay? Did you put anything down?
I am considering one. I pay way too much for my Jeep and it’s starting to bother me. I like the explorer a lot and am curious if it would be cheaper. Also I never ever put even $1 down when leasing.
Thanks!

Re: Has anyone leased a Ford Explorer recently?
I just leased a 2018 Explorer. I did not put anything down and had it rolled into the monthly payment. I also did a very low mileage lease.
Monthly payments are going to vary depending on what you want in a car. I wanted autostart, sunroof, power liftgate, heated seats and steering, AWD. The package with all of the above also came with a leather interior.
I used a car leasing company because he got me the best deal on it.

His name is Danny and he is awesome. Tell him Nicole Botti referred you. He takes care of everything. He will deliver the car to you, have you sign the paperwork and it's done. It was seriously the easiest process.

We leased one last year. $450 a month, 0 down. Fully loaded. We had gotten previous cars from the same dealership.

Following this thread. Do you like the explorer? Does yours have a third row? Can you get captain chairs? Thanks!

We have the third row (I think they all do). I’ve never put it up. No captains chairs.
Overall, it’s ok. I don’t know that I’d get another one unless I got a really phenomenal deal. Lots of bells and whistles for the money. It’s absolutely horrible on gas. I know all SUVs are but this seems exceptionally bad.

That’s what I pay for my jeep. And I’ve basically only had jeeps for over a decade so I get loyality.
I thought the explorer was a bit cheaper.

TBH, it's hard to find even a small SUV for under $350 a month. We're looking for a small SUV to replace our sedan (lease is up) and I thought we could easily find something under $300 a month. Not a chance. Granted, I'll only take a fully loaded or nearly fully loaded car so that makes a difference but I've nearly died at most of the prices I've gotten.

I live in a really hilly area and need/want 4wd. Recently I drove my moms car and it felt like I was laying down driving a tiny fake car. I hated it. I think I am on my 5th or 6th Jeep. My first one I leased was $250, since then it has just gone up and up. I have considered a cloth interior package, but it’s still high 300s and with kids not as clean. I am so sick of paying so much.

It’s insanity. It really truly is. One of the reasons I’ll only take a fully loaded car is because I want the additional safety features. It infuriates me that only those who can afford it get things like blind spot monitoring. Eslecially when everyone drives like a-holes.
So we’re safe(r) but poor!

You can get it cheaper but you have to put money down. So it's 6 of one, but half dozen of another, kwim? You either pay more up front or pay higher monthly payments.

Very true. But I feel like if something happened to my car soon after leasing, I’d be out all that money, kwim? I like to gradually impoverish myself, not all at once.

I leased a 2017 last year, xlt model. I have the sport appearance package, sun roof, no captain chair in this one, suede seats etc I put down tax and title and pay $475. This is my 3rd explorer ive leases. I can’t find anything of that size in that price range so I just keep re-leasing them. We almost went with an Acadia but the trunk size when the seats are up is considerably smaller than the explorer. 10,500 miles also.

If you drive off the lot and get hit by another car you loose every penny you just put down. Or if it’s a lemon, also in theory it’s better to hold onto the money and accrue interest rather than have the dealership take it.
But I get what you mean.

Yes true. Its a gamble for sure. or you can purchase gap insurance for that I believe but not sure how much that costs or if its worth it vs putting no money down
