Carrie underwood-

Did anyone watch the ACMs?

I haven't yet but I'm curious to see if she looked different to anyone with the scar she had from the stitches-. I feel like she gets so heavily spackled for these shows that I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't look different at all

Carrie underwood-

I don’t think she looked different at all and I don’t really understand what the months and months of fuss was about.

Re: Carrie underwood-

Looked exactly the same. And honestly kind of pisses me off that she made a big deal out of this for months. Shes lucky enough to have a lot of money to get the best plastic surgeon needed. Less fortunate people have to actually live with visible scars. Sorry for my rant.

I didn't see her, but I agree - im SURE she had the worlds best plastic surgeon and she obviously has a spackle team ready to go.... really cant imagine that she looks so different... maybe without her makeup but we'd never see her that way anyhow...

I get it, you have a hideous scar... ok but you can still sing..

shell probably write a book about it later on and make more money off of it lol

and I DO like her- I just cant get over the insecurity and all behind this

I wonder if she never mentioned anything at all if anyone would think something was different

Yeah it seriously upsets me what a big deal has been made about this. It is insulting and hurtful to people with major deformities and injuries. She must be the most shallow insecure human being.

Exactly. Gimme a break. I mean, sorry she got hurt and I'm sure it was painful and scary but not sure why she got a standing ovation for....showing up.

I think I'm the only one that thought something looked off with her face. Did she looked disfigured, obviously not. But something looked different. Just can't figure out exactly what it was. Around the mouth / chin area.

I'm not sure she blew this out of proportion as much as the media did.
I'm sure to HER she looks different. She had 40 stitches in her face. That had to be traumatizing. I'm not going to bash to woman for not having visible scars. Maybe she had a lot of makeup covering them.
As for the standing ovation. From what I read she couldn't sing for quite sometime to allow for healing. And yet she killed that performance. I would've stood for her too.

Yes, this is all I have been thinking . . . She better look pretty deformed or she's just an awful person, implying that there's something so terrible about having your face/body look "different" or flawed. To come out looking perfect as every, she's horrible. I really dislike her now.

This. And I'm a fan of hers , but now she has kind of turned me off. I can't be;ieve how big a deal she made about this. It's disgusting considering tons of people have real problems. She looks exactly the same.

I have empathy for her. Maybe she should post a makeup free one for everyone who suddenly hates her

She just comes off as incredibly vain now. Like, she did it herself, posting all kinds of "covered up" photos on Instagram, press releases about how she wont look the same - semi-reveal photos but with certain shadows and lighting and then BAM - she looks perfect. Look, I dont wish that she be disfigured, goodness no. But dont make a big thing about how "disfigured" you are and then come out looking perfect. Its vain and its insulting to those who are truly scarred.

Re: Carrie underwood-

I can't find her full letter on line...But here is some of it.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about, since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote. "It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."

"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well," the 34-year-old continued. "I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told (husband) Mike (Fisher) that he had put between 40-50 stitches in. Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I've had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not quite looking the same."

"I honestly don't know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful," she wrote. "I am grateful that it wasn't much, much, worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way. I've still got a ways to go in the recovery process, but it's encouraging to see every day be a little better than the last."

"When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different," she added. "I'm hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don't know how it's all going to end up."

I honestly think the media blew it up more than she did. By using the words "horrific" and "gruesome". ETA: Disfigured.

I haven't seen her use any of those words.

Of course anyone would be upset by this injury. But IMO it’s silly to post these Instagram “teaser” photos of yourself all covered up as if you’re about to unveil some sort of grotesque disfuguration. And then you look exactly the same as always. Just heal from your injury privately.

There were a couple that she posted with her face half concealed. One with a big X over it for some cause and a few profile shots or with her face behind a microphone. I didn't notice any scar in her latest appearance, but she has always worn a ton of makeup so I'm sure it was covered up.

I have 35 stitches in my left knee, 30 stitches in my right from knee replacement surgery.
I am so self conscious about the scars and makeup can't hide them, neither does tanning.
So what if she covered her scar with makeup.
She is a public figure and is so judged, just like every other celebrity out there.

She's a damned good singer.

Nope.

That's the point I'm trying to make. SHE wasn't the one to make a big thing of this. The media was. Shocking I knowChat Icon Chat Icon And because she wasn't showing her whole face that means something. Half my profile pics on FB only shows half my face.

And please, how many women on this site have admitted to not going out without make up. Guess that's not consider vain thoughChat Icon
