Front row seats for Broadway Show?

I'm saying no, but I've never sat first row, so maybe I'm missing something.

I have sat front row for a Christmas Story, DH thought he scored but really it was hard to see some things. It was awesome that you saw Actors so close and see their expressions, but I would not recommended it.

I voted nay, but we did see some acrobatic Broadway show that was amazing in front row. There was a lot going on though.

I sat front for Mamma Mia a while ago and it was too close. A few seats back towards center and I'm happy.

Been to tons of shows, it’s a perk of my job. I’ve sat everywhere in theatres and my least desired seat is front row. You don’t take in everything as well when you’re practically on the stage.

I sat first row, but over on the side when I saw Le Mis (for the 4th time)... and I was more focused on the singers spitting as they sang then the show. I was thankful I wasn't in the first row center!

I prefer a few rows back.

I don't know about that show but I've sat front row many times at musicals and love it. It's like being front row at a concert. I saw front row at Rent so many times and the actors would make eye contact which was always so exciting.

Am I the only one who has never even seen front row AVAILABLE for a show?
Those seats always seem to be grayed out !

You can't see the whole stage, and you are looking up the entire time.

I remember being 3rd row for the producers with Tony Danza. I still feel like I could feel his spit on my face.....

I saw The Scarlet Pimpernel sitting in the first row and I was so distracted by the spitting. It was such that they should hand out those clear plastic sheets like they used to at Gallagher shows.
Damn, I'm old!

Nay. I prefer about row 5 or 6 because you can see the entire stage plus the balcony if used.

I sat front row at Phantom about a decade ago and it was not a good experience. We had to look up the whole time and I felt like I was missing things because I couldn’t take in the entire stage. I LOVE LOVE LOVE front row mezzanine though.

I’ve sat in the first row a few times. I wouldn’t say I’d outright avoid it, but I also don’t consider it the best seat. I’d rather sit in the front row orchestra though than far away, if those were my choices. Ideally we seek out center orchestra, somewhere around rows E to R, depending on the theater.

I saw Bronx Tale this weekend and sat Orchestra Row G and it was perfect.

I think it depends on theater and the show. In some theaters the first row is right at the stage, and in others it's set back a bit.

If it was a good deal, I'd sit there. It's hard to get a few rows back in center orchestra for a great price bc those are the most wanted seats!

I voted no. I've seen a Bronx Tale and you need to see the whole stage, they utilize the entire thing. All shows we prefer to sit front (or 2nd) row of the mezzanine.

DH & I are huge theatre goers- we go to 2 shows a year. We ALWAYS get 1st or 2nd row mezzanine. IMO, it is the best spot in the theatre!
