Wedding in Montauk. Suggestions for the weekend
DH and I are attending a wedding at Gurneys in Montauk in September. It happens to fall on the weekend of our 5 year anniversary and we'd like to make a 3 day trip out of it. Any suggestions on things to do, places to eat (we want to do dinner one night someplace nice to celebrate our anniversary), etc?

I dislike Harvest. I think the food is mediocre and the atmosphere prestigious. I prefer Muse which is right there. I really like Dave's Gone Fishing which is the same owners as Dave's Grill but in a new marina. It's a bit pricey but I like the atmosphere and the food is outrageous. Duryea's is really nice if you like seafood - specifically lobster rolls. It's self serve on Fort Pond and you can bring your own wine.
You can horseback ride on the beach. The trails at Montauk Point along with the light house is fun to do too.

Yup!
My family has had a house out there for 33 years.
I am not a fan of the Harvest. I prefer the Inlet. September is a great time of year to go out though. It's still nice enough out go to the beach too
Gurney's is nice, you're staying there? The spa is lovely.

The wedding is actually at Gurney's Yatch Club. We haven't decided yet if we plan to stay there or not. I'd love other hotel recommendations if you have any!

Actually, I like the Yacht Club better than actual Gurney's. We actually had my dad's 70th there. If the room is reasonable, Id' stay there. Montauk doesn't have hotels like a lot of places. There are motels, and nicer motels, lol.

Re: Wedding in Montauk. Suggestions for the weekend
Dave's Gone Fishing closed and is not reopening this season, and Duryea's is not BYOB anymore and not self serve. Duryea's actually got pretty stuffy once they sold to the new owners.
The Salt Box (in town) is very good as is Harvest.
Navy Beach and Crow's Nest are also really good but a little more pricey.
Crabby Cowboy is a good time and super relaxed
Swallow East is also really good.

I really liked how they set up Dave's. I was just there last fall. I was never a fan of lobster so it has been a while since I was at Duryea's.
I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with Harvest. I would never recommend that place to anyone.
