Long weekend away w/ toddler and 9 month old
So I decided today I want to take the kids away for a long weekend this summer to a beach - Ocean City, Dewey Beach, something casual along those lines. We haven't been away once since having kids!
My son is 2.5 and still in a crib at home (loves his sleep, doesn't try to climb out, 3 hour naps, etc.). If we rent a house while away, what would you do for sleeping arrangements? would you put him in a bed with guard rails? toddler blow up mat? he is 39" tall so he is too big for a pack and play at this point, and I would use that for my 9 month old anyway.
Thanks!

Honestly, when my son was 3 he was probably about the same size and we used the pack n play. He was in a crib til he was 4. Was it a tight fit for him, little bit, but he slept all night and was contained, which is VERY important for us. It's just 1-2 nights.

I'll have the same issue next month when we go away but my son is 3.5 so will not fit in a pack and play or rollaway crib. I'm going to get one of those inflatable bed rails to keep him from falling out of the bed.

I usually would ask for a crib at that age if your hotel will provide! DD still fits on a standard crib mattress at 6.5 (she’s tall for her age). DS has just outgrown a crib mattress at 8 (he’s average height).
I have also used an air mattress and slept with kids on bed on vacations where there was no access to a crib. It’s no big deal. One kid likes to sleep on sofas when on vacation... and some places have a chair and ottoman we make into a bed.
For falling off the bed, I usually will prop a chair by the kid.

We'll be traveling with DD in the fall who will be 2.5. She sleeps great in her crib, but we'll be keeping her in the bed with us.

This. I might also bring her sleeping bag.
