I never watched this show. Was interested. But is it violent? I din’t Like violence and gore.
There is violence and gore. More than I was expecting or like. I just look away during those moments. More of it is emotional & psychological disturbing violence, but yes moments of gross eye closing stuff. Nothing like games of thrones or horror movies or anything though.

What’s up with that architect?!? Why is he so interested in OfGlen? Why did his wife accuse him of digging up some toxic dirt? And did anybody see the sneak episode for the season finale? I think Fred is gonna kill Nick!
I dont know what is up with him, but he is very creepy. I think he takes in anyone who is "damaged" -- his maid has one eye, and the handmaid was mutilated. The head of the handmaids said he was the economist that created their whole system. The wife said he came up with the idea of the colonies -- which is where OfGlen was digging up the toxic dirt (im assuming which was nuclear debris from whatever war occurred to get the US Democracy out of power). Maybe he feels guilty about that. He may also be an intellectual and wants stimulating conversation? He knew she was a professor.

This is seriously one of the best shows I have ever seen. It is so well done. While there are some intense and very disturbing scenes, I would not say that anything is shockingly graphic or violent.
I agree!! Literally one of the BEST shows on TV, hand down! SO well acted and well thought out. I love it!!

Less sorry for whom? June?
There is no way she was going to leave without Hannah.

How will she possibly leave with Hannah at this point? They’ll know the baby is gone, they’ll know she’s responsible, they know Hannah is her daughter... I think she eventually gets out and writes a book about being a Handmaid and that’s what the show is based on (just by the way it’s narrated) so I DO think she gets out.... but as the viewer I would have preferred to see her take that exit and fight Gilliad from the outside. At this point I feel like it’ll be more of the same, but I guess we have 10 months or so to find out.

They are going to blame Emily for kidnapping the baby and June will say she was out of the house trying to get her baby back.

The Handmaid's Tale
Hated the finale. Mostly I hated the fact that she told Emily to "call her Nicole". WTF? We are supposed to believe that June feels sympathetic to Serena now? The same woman that held her down while she was raped? Please.

The Handmaid's Tale
Yes, it was frustrating to watch that last scene. But when she said you WILL meet Hannah, I was like, uh-nuh, what are you up to June...
But to see that type of resistance from the Martha's - the organization that must have taken, the breaking & cracking of some of the foundation of Gilead's rules, questioning what type of world they have created for their girls, Eden's demise, her devotion to god and still gets punished as a child...
I'm hoping it's June realizing that if she got this far with the baby, she has a fighting chance to get Hannah out too.
Crazy how quickly Serena switched like that. She must have really loved that finger to make an about face like that. I kid ;)

I can see that, but that’s assuming Serena doesn’t tell the truth. It’s easy to say losing her finger was a turning point but her character the entire season has been erratic- especially with how she relates to June.
I think a great season finale would have been the driver of the car saying he can only take one handmaid, and we are left wondering who it would be.

True! Serena has been this way. And who knows if she'll turn on June and tell the truth. Hoping since she let the baby go in the first place, she'd stick up for June & lie for her.
That would have been crazy to see - but I enjoy knowing June went back for Hannah. That devilish grin at the end when she was placing her hood up! Oh she's got plans.
Like Martha said, "your girlfriend is bad a s s" . Love seeing Nick & June together, making the best of it.

The Handmaid's Tale
I just don't know how she thinks she can rescue Hannah from inside Gilead. She was ready to leave several times before and now suddenly she can't go? Also she just tosses the baby to Emily - how is the baby supposed to eat?

The Handmaid's Tale
I thought it was an incredibly gripping ending to an amazing season. The privotal episode last week with the young girl being drowned is what changed everything. Those wives, those marthas, the handmaids... everyone came together to put their foot down to the treatment of women in this society. To see a 15 yr old girl who was only trying to do as she was taught -- be a good wife, be a mother, have a family, follow the bible -- be killed that way was proof that women mean nothing. Hell, the whole society is based on children being everything and they just pushed 2 of them off a diving board without a thought. Men needing control...smh. I knew the moment that she stood there that June was not leaving. My DH was like wtf why isnt she going and i said there is no way she is leaving another girl, her baby, in there. All season long she might have left and hoped that her first baby would be OK but now she knows that can never ever be. That drowning changed everything.
*Edited to add: My prediction is she will be with the waterfords trying to make another baby -- a boy this time. We shall see.

ITA!!!
It was an INCREDIBLE episode, I was so engrossed. It was an amazing end to an AMAZING season. What I loved the most this season was watching the evolution of Serena, I loved that she became more human and less of a cold b!tch. I love how she started to see that the society they all created is horrible and that she wanted better for her "daughter". Everything about this show is perfection. I cannot wait until season 3!!!

I don't think Serena switched quickly at all. Her character has been struggling and evolving all season. It was clear about halfway through the season that she was starting to have her doubts about Gilead and that she related to and respected June more than she wanted to let on. I LOVED that she handed the baby off, it showed that she has a shred of humanity and compassion left and that she isn't as selfish as she was first portrayed to be.
Amazing finale!
