40th Birthday help edited
Dh's birthday is in January. He's turning 40 this year and wanted to do something special. was thinking of a long weekend trip F-S (leave late thursday, come back late sunday) Someplace warmer than nyc winters would be nice but i have no idea where to go.
DH likes beer, and music of all kinds.
I would love some great locations ideas.
Thanks!
Edited to add place he's already been: Nashville, NOLA, miami
i'm open to east and west, just something warmer than NYC. =)

Re: 40th Birthday help
Nashville is a great time but gets cold too in the winter. Not necessarily NY cold but it does snow.
For not that much further Austin, TX is a good location too.

I was in Nashville a few years ago in January...it was freezing!! I think the temp was in the 20s all week.
South Beach might be fun. I've always wanted to go to Austin, TX too.

Re: 40th Birthday help
we were recently in Miami Beach and walked down Lincoln Road which we had no idea about just stumbled upon. Super cute and fun atmosphere. Tons of restaurants and shops. I'm sure there's live music too.

Re: 40th Birthday help
These places all have lots of breweries, nice restaurants with beer and music:
Asheville, North Carolina Boston, Massachusetts Nashville, Tennessee Austin, Texas New Orleans, Louisiana Portland, Oregon Savannah, Georgia Atlanta, Georgia
So, do you want East Coast? West Coast? Any of these places that are favorites and you want to see again? Any of these places brand new and sound exciting to visit? Any of these have a daytime activity he would like besides breweries and music? These are def. my top 8 choices.
Please let us know where you end up!!! We can even give recommendations for places to hit up once you are there.

I'd say New Orleans. I had an amazing time there- excellent place for food, art, and music!

It would be cold, but warmer than NY of course! And you wouldn't really see snow or rain. They barely ever get any snow.
I guess based on this, you should expect 30-50 degrees at that time.
"Daily high temperatures are around 47°F, rarely falling below 33°F or exceeding 61°F. The lowest daily average high temperature is 47°F on January 17. Daily low temperatures are around 29°F, rarely falling below 14°F or exceeding 45°F. The lowest daily average low temperature is 28°F on January 29."
Here is the tourist website: All the things to see and do: https://www.exploreasheville.com/
I know they are called "beer capital of the usa" and that they have a huge music scene. On that website they have ideas for "beercations" and "music getaways". They also have ziplining and nice spots to watch sunsets. It really looks like an awesome place.
