South Florida areas with larger properties?
We're in the very early stages of planning a move to Florida, not exactly sure when yet. We like the Miami/Boca/Palm Beach areas but need to do a lot more research. Currently just Googling but I'm not finding it especially helpful.
I know some people here live or lived in Florida, so just wondering- In the ares I mentioned, do any of them have larger properties? We're currently on an acre and all the houses I'm seeing when I search are tiny properties. Many of the houses are gorgeous but I need a decent sized yard.
Also, any recommendations on good areas to live, good schools, family friendly, etc?

We have family in Jupiter. They have a very nice house, tons of families, they are very happy with the elementary school. The stress of the hurricanes does get to them though. Between Matthew in 2016, and Irma last year...neither one even really affected the area, but the stress of waiting and watching and not knowing if it would slam them or not...they were evacuated both times. They live in a flood zone near the Inter coastal.

I don't know about South Florida but I live in the Tampa area and most houses are in HOA-type communities with very little property. We, too, wanted a large backyard and had to look at neighborhoods as opposed to planned communities. We ended up 45 minutes north of Tampa but got exactly what we wanted. It did take us longer to find a home than if we just moved to a community.

My Brother works for palm beach FD and lives in Victoria Groves which is royal palm beach. It still has small properties, but something to check out anyway
