Beach vacation with 12, 11 and 11 year olds

We have come to the conclusion that our children are not amusement park people nor are they sightseers Chat Icon As a matter of fact according to them they "might die" if they have to walk too far.

So looking for a beach vacation for this spring somewhere that will have fun things for them to do. Because of their age, I think they might age out of the kids camps...

OMG are your children related to me? Chat Icon
I am neither an amusement park person or a sight seer and I also hate a lot of walking.
To me a vacation is lay on the beach or by the pool, bring me my drinks and read my book.
I do get up for an occasional dip in the water.

I haven't been to any, but I would check into some of the all inclusive in the DR or Mexico - there was another thread about one that had some great kid stuff

Here's the thread

I thought Atlantis (though $$$) would be great for that age if they are good swimmers.

If not, a cruise? They have age grouped kids clubs.

For a relative budget, I thought the Clearwater area had a beautiful beach and a lot to do.

Aruba is always awesome.

Or me, lol. I was so glad my ex husband took my son to Disney so I never have to Chat Icon

OP we are taking a cruise with our boys in February. They do like to be able to do some stuff so I figured it was a compromise

I'd definitely cruise- there's just enough to do that they can partake if they want to (water slides, rock climbing, poolside contests, etc.) but they can just relax and enjoy, too. They have shows, karaoke, shopping, every type of food... and it's all RIGHT there. Plus, leaving from NY is the best ever... you get down to the dock, they take your luggage and the vacation has already begun... no rushing around the airport lugging your stuff with you.

Dubai. Beach, desert -dune excursion is incredible and super super cheap (30pp with dinner !), great water park, awesome malls where you can ski and play with penguins. It’s such an awesome place !

Price it out and you’ll see Caribbean is prob more expensive

i would look into a cruise, definitely! they have age based kids clubs, so they could go there if they wanted to without it being too "babyish"... plus, water slides, mini golf and that kind of stuff on the ships. plus all the food is included in the cost, and available anytime- so no arguing about who wants to eat where, who is cooking dinner at a beach house and all of that.

We go to Myrtle Beach, SC each year. Just don't stay in downtown MB but everywhere else is fine.

We just stayed at the JW Marriott on marco island. It was fantastic. Tons for kids to do. A couple pools and a great beach. Would highly recommend.

I think it also depends on what month. You say spring.
It may be too cold in spring for MD or even SC to be a true beach vacation.

You may have to stick to Florida or Caribbean depending on the month
