Restaurants near Stony Brook / Port Jeff?
ETA Thank you for all these great suggestions. Turns out the group I'm meeting now wants to do something in western Suffolk. Any good restaurants for kids with lots of Christmas decorations?
Especially ones that are good for kids and, hopefully, have Christmas decorations for a December lunch?

Restaurants near Stony Brook / Port Jeff?
Three Village Inn is lovely around Christmas. That whole area is. The Country House is also right there and Pentimento. Port Jefferson will be decorated because of the Dickens Festival and there are a ton of great restaurants there, Ruvo, Old Field, Toast, Pasta Pasta, Z-Pita, The Fifth Season.

Sweet Mama's is good for kids; that's in the Stony Brook Village Center. Even if they are not decorated to the hilt, the village center itself and the environs are.

I don't find it great for kids. Its very stuffy.

We took the kids at Xmas time for a Santa brunch so it was kid friendly. But honestly, if you're going for lunch/dinner and your kids are well behaved you it's fine to dine with them there at any time.

I love the Sweet Mama's in Northport but I've been disappointed at the one in SB. It's kind of pricey too for the atmosphere and food.
