Re: key west with kids??
Not Key West but we stayed in Key Largo and it was AMAZING. We stayed at the Playa Largo Resort and Spa. Perfection and stuff for the kids to do- daily kids' activities, fishing off the pier. It was awesome. A lot closer to Miami too

We stayed at casa marina. It was great. We just walked around, had some great food (and chocolate covered key lime pie). There’s a cute little aquarium there and the nightly entertainment on the pier.

Are you flying into Miami? I'm sure you already know, but it's about a 4 hour drive to Key West from Miami. I haven't been to Key West in a long time, but I really didn't like it. Not sure what there is for kids to do....there's a big bar scene. There aren't really any beaches but they do have a lot of boat tours. I would maybe look into the keys that are closer to Miami. Miami beaches are great!

Yes! Key Largo was an hour from Miami and soooo nice. Not a party scene like Key West. And the place we stayed had a great beach. It was a bay, the water was warm and calm, you could see to the bottom, see fish, my dd loved it

Thanks, everybody! we decided not to go... i snapped back to reality about the last minute flight prices HAHAHA (almost $500 a person!) so i cancelled the flights i had booked. now we're trying to come up with a plan B we're even thinking a night or 2 in NYC, since we don't get in there really at all.

NYC would be fun. I always fantasize about doing that- just going in and being a tourist for a bit.

we do this every year. We go 2 weeks before Christmas, Stay at a hotel near Bryant Park, and walk to everything. Usually see a show, and the tree, ice skating. It is a yearly tradition.
