Who can test my child for ADHD?
I’d like to do some testing on my child as he displays a lot of characteristics of ADHD inattentive type.
I called these behavioral specialists at North Shore and after speaking to the staff it seems like they don’t do diagnostic testing, just parent/teacher questionnaires and interviews, and observations of the child.
Should I see a developmental pediatrician? A neurologist? A psychiatrist? I’m seeing my pediatrician in December so I’ll ask then but was wondering if anyone had any insight and recommendations for a great doctor. Thank you!!

Who can test my child for ADHD?
I would start with developmental pediatrician. We did that and a neuropsych consult when we didn’t like like what the neurologists did. They were basically giving any diagnosis I wanted and then said come back when I want my child on medicine.. The developmental ped was a 7 month wait but well worth it bc it was a series of appointments and they got to know the child. They came up with a plan and it’s great.
