Feed my son or not?

Hi all,
hope everyone had a good holiday.

Protein Powder/shake - I'm definitely down with that BUT when DS was around 1 and the doctor mentioned his weight % dropping, I said:
"Can we give him protein shakes?"

The ped said that its bad for his kidneys.

But he is old enough so maybe not anymore and its ok to do.... ?

I think excess protein is not good in very young children that may be why
However they make protein shakes specifically for kids- like the pedisure ones- so the macros would be made for children vs adults

Feeding Therapy with a speech therapist my helped daughter (and myself) tremendously. I’m a Pediatric OT and still couldn’t address feeding issues at home. I would totally recommend it. At least get an eval and professional advice/information. I went through my insurance and used:

I definitely wouldn't give adult protein shakes to my son. I agree with the Pediasure or Ensure. They gave that to my cousin when he was really sick.

How about green smoothies but use the recipes with more frozen fruits and a little greens like baby spinach. My son enjoyed those when I was doing the diet.

It doesn’t have to be a protein shake specifically. You can blend peanut butter, strawberries and frozen banana with a little coconut milk. Also you can sneak things in like avocado, coconut oil, probiotics or spinach. The avocado and coconut oil will be creamy and add good healthy fats to his diet.
