rectangle vs oval sink?
I am redoing my master bathroom and need to decide what kind of sink to get. It will be undermount, but I need to figure out which style to go with. The fixtures are moen voss
the tub is very rectangular.
the tiles are rectangles and hexagons.
My husband thinks cleaning the rectangle shape will be a PIA because toothpaste can get into the angles and it will not drain as well. Do you have a rectangle sink? Do you like it? Would you get it again?

rectangle vs oval sink?
I would go with a rectangle, I think with those shapes and lines tossing an oval in there would look odd. I have a rectangular sink in my downstairs bathroom, it’s off our den so I’m not using it for anything other than a bathroom, but I clean my bathrooms every other day, so I feel if you don’t let grime, soap, toothpaste build up, it won’t be bad, I know if I let my shower go all week without a scrub it takes more effort so I think rectangle would be fine! If all else, use a toothpick or coulrner scrub tool to clean!

rectangle vs oval sink?
I've had rectangular sinks in 2 bathrooms and never found them difficult to clean. No different than any other sink. I definitely prefer the look of a rectangular sink over oval.

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
Most rectangle sinks don't have super tight corners, like a metal box or something. The corners are rounded, so it shouldn't be a problem cleaning.
If they were really that hard to keep clean, they wouldn't still be making them.
I think the rectangle would fit in with the shape theme of the bathroom better.

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
My rectangular sink is an undermount and it's curved at the bottom allowing the water to drain quickly. The "corners" are soft and easy to wipe clean.

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
I have a square vessel sink and while it's a little more awkward to clean and get the corners it really isn't a huge issue. Takes maybe 2 or 3 more swipes with the paper towel. I say go for the shape that looks best with what you have going on- so probably the rectangle. The cleaning part isn't a huge deal

I like the look of a rectangular sink better. It's not hard to clean at all.

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
Agree with everyone else. I have a rectangular sink in my newly renovated bathroom and it's no harder to clean than the oval one that was there. Plus, it's bigger in size. My DH used to say he felt like he was washing his face in a cereal bowl with the old oval sink lol

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
My brother has a rectangular and I dont feel that it drains well. Like after brushing, I have to pour water around to do a quick clean. I do like the look of it and I dont think cleaning it is an issue, I just dont like the way the water goes down. Others here dont seem to have that problem so it may be bc his sink is on the larger side?

I think that has more to do with the shape of the bottom, and not the top and sides shape.

In my previous house, both full bathrooms had rectangular sinks, but one had a flat bottom and one had a sloped bottom. The one with the sloped bottom definitely drained better and stayed cleaner looking longer

Re: rectangle vs oval sink?
Thanks so much for everyone giving me their opinion and experience. It really helped me make a decision. We went with the rectangle sink with the curved bottom. I am so glad I asked and everyone had experience with these sinks.
