for all the time lost cutting the damn toys out of the packaging???? Why do toys that cost $7.99 need to be more firmly secured in packaging than the Hope Diamond?

I feel after a certain price point, like over $19.99, an employee of Fisher Price, Little Tikes, etc. should be required to provide the service of coming and snipping every little plastic band, plastic casing, string and other packaging AND bring a little screwdriver with them to put the stupid batteries in (why can't we just go old school with the slide off? Is it really necessary to secure batteries with a freakin screw???)

OMG it's sooo ridiculous.
We were just ranting about that yesterday.
And sometimes Amazon was offering the "frustration free" packaging- but that's just like the toy and parts thrown in a box- not very appealing to open on Christmas morning.
And not really available much.

But it shouldn't take us 2 hours to get a toy unboxed.

I didn't have too difficult a time with packaging this year thankfully. However those LOL Underwraps made me feel like a complete moron! It took DH and I twenty minutes to each unlock one! At least DH was smart enough to sharpie the codes next to each lock so we won't have to play that guessing game in the future.

We got the Toy Driver as a christmas gift a few years ago and it's the best! It's the perfect size for all the annoying battery covers. I want to gift them to every new parent.

Re: Can we share in a moment of silence

Why does Barbies hair need to be attached to the cardboard? Why do her arms and feet have rubber bands around them a thousand times as if she is going to run out of the box? What about the tons of decals that need to be put on the hot wheels and barbie camper and then the ambulance. The shopping, the wrapping, the taking it out of the box, the putting it together all for one toy took so much out of me.
Yes the screwdrivers needed to take out certain toys. I swear I lost my purple scissors a ton of time. Barbie clothes being attached to the cardboard and then getting holes in them when I cut them out. I don't get it.

Yes something needs to be done about this. I had so much garbage this Christmas due to all the crap that held the toy in.

I accidentally cut the seatbelt right off barbie's motor scooter. Oh well, at least I won't get asked to belt her in 8 million times and dd has no idea the ever was a seatbelt lol.

I wonder how many parents end up in ER's on Christmas with injuries sustained from scissors, knives, etc. cutting open frickan Paw patrol cars and the like.

You know...these toy companies are just the epitome of #winning. We pay a premium for this crap that will be forgotten about in under 6 months. If they are super lucky, they will have created the "it" toy and get to watch parents almost kill each other trying to get their hands on limited inventory. Then, as a final F U, they get a hoot out of watching parents wrestle the stuff out of the packaging. My 2 year old got the Rock-to-pus. It literally took me 18 minutes to get every freaking piece out.

Chat Icon My DD got this from my mom. Luckily it's staying at her house and it's her problem not mine! Chat Icon

Also... what's with the weird shaped boxes for wrapping... Seriously Trolls... does your box need to be hair shaped because I ripped the wrapping on every.single.one. Chat Icon I didn't care- taped it and moved along.

Re: Can we share in a moment of silence

This post seriously made me laugh because it is so true. The packaging on this stuff is beyond insane. My daughter got one of those generation doll beds from target. I practically needed a magnifying glass to cut the plastic as to not cut the bedding. And the part where I just have to find the humor is...when you FINALLY think you have released a doll into freedom and pull it from the box only to realize practically each strand of hair is sewn into cardboard. What the???
