I might look into AirBNB or a VRBO if you're into that; might be cheaper and easier to have a house where everyone can be together and come and go as you please.

Re: Lake George- end of summer
In-town kid friendly I would look at Marine Village, Surfside, The Georgian, and The Quality Inn. Of those 4, the Quality Inn is the only one that's not directly on the water (it's across the street). The Surfside and Marine Village both recently did big renovations and the rooms are in a little better shape than a lot of other LG village hotels.
If you don't mind being a very short distance away from the village (and there's a trolley stop right there, so it's super convenient to get to town) I highly recommend looking at the Lodges at Cresthaven. They're a bit pricey, but they're beautiful and very family friendly. The Boathouse restaurant is right on the property, it has a beach, playground, game room, and the lodges are perfect for families.
My DH's family has a house in the village and we've been going up since we were all kids. If you have any other questions, feel free to FM me! The village has made a lot of improvements just in the past year or two! It's really a great place to vacation with kids.

we stay there. We used to stay there when I was a kid. We have taken our boys there for the past 2 summers and LOVE it. They have renovated the hotel, and now have an upstairs bar/restaurant overlooking the lake. It is walking distance to the town.

The lodges at Cresthaven are incredible! Just double-check the weather; you may not get much swimming in at that time.

As long as you are coming in August, the weather should be okay. I live about 90 minutes south of Lake George and its typically still hot until the week after Labor Day.

I agree...actually even in September you're usually going to get 80 degree days and the lake is at it's warmest water temps. We got married in mid-September in LG and the days leading up to our wedding were in the 80's and we were out on the boat. My SIL got married on september 19th in LG and her wedding day was in the 80's. We were actually all sweating so much in the church that our makeup was running! So, you may have a cool day here and there, but generally end of the summer you're still fine until the end of September.

Yeah, it's still NY , not Canada. I've never known Lake George to not be hot like here through Labor Day.

It has a pool, and its own access to the lake.

Re: Lake George- end of summer
Thanks. After pricing and reviewing surf side looks like a winner
Question, there is a significant price diff between pool view and the north wing Besides being right in front of pool any other things I should be weary of?
