Face makeup primer
Has anyone used it? Does it really help your makeup last?
What brands do you like?

Re: Face makeup primer
I use it because I feel I should, but honestly no. It does nothing for longevity. It might smooth your skin out a bit and make the foundation go on better, but the jury is even out on that for me.
I use Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer and Benefit PoreFessional for areas where my pores are huge or I have texture. (and my pores are STILL huge and I STILL have texture to be honest. But maybe a little less?)
If you are looking for something to make the makeup last longer, try a setting spray. Urban Decay All Nighter is decent. Not holy grail like people clam, but makes it last a few hours longer I guess

I use Benefit Porefessional and I see a difference when I use it and when I don’t Laura Mercier is my other go to it’s more of a gel while the benefit one I find if my skin is dry can make my face flaky

Face makeup primer
I totally see a difference. I use this no-name stuff from the beauty supply and it can be found on Amazon. It's plain black packaging that any makeup consultant can put their label on.

the name retexturizing intrigues me because I have a ton of texture on my face and I hate it. Do you find this helps smooth texture?

Yes! I am addicted to it and can't live without it because I haaaate sticky primers. This feels like silk going on, and a teeny bit goes a long way. It fills in all the cracks and my nose feels soooo smooth after I apply it. Let it dry (I hit it with the blow dryer on cool) before you put on makeup. Shop around... lots of different prices on Amazon.

Thank you! I bought a Strivectin one that was supposed to do this and it was SO expensive and it did nothing. In fact, I feel like it made my skin look even WORSE! That went right back I will definitely try this. for the price you can't beat it!

Yes, for me it makes a difference. Hourglass mineral veil primer, Tatcha primer, dr Brandt no more pores are the ones I like and use the most.

Re: Face makeup primer
I go back and forth with Too Faced Hangover Primer and Benefit Porefessional primer. I wouldn’t say that primer makes my makeup last longer but it does give my skin a smooth surface when I go to apply my foundation. If you’re looking for your make up to last I like to use Supergoop Setting Mist. It has SPF too. I don’t do powders anymore to set my makeup since I’m in my 40s and makes your skin look older. So try a setting mist.
