Dr. Palter - Gold Coast IVF?
Anyone have any reviews? Good experiences? Bad experiences? I've been with Dr. Kenigsberg at LIIVF since 2014. After 4 failed IUI's (2 natural and 2 medicated), we moved on to IVF and conceived our daughter on the first attempt, with a single embryo fresh transfer. Fast forward 4 years and we got pregnant this past August, again with a single embryo transfer from a FET. It unfortunately ended in miscarriage in October at around 10 weeks. Since then we've had 2 more FET rounds, both resulting in nothing, despite high grade quality embryos. I have 2 more frozen embryos and if neither work, then I'll have to go through another fresh cycle. I'm thinking of switching practices. My protocol hasn't ever been changed at LIIVF -- I've always been on the same meds, same doses, etc. The "factory feel" at LIIVF, which didn't originally bother me, is starting to annoy me. Sometimes I show up for a blood draw during monitoring hours and they don't have an encounter form printed for me and the person behind the desk wants to know why I am there, if I'm supposed to be there, etc. I'm also contemplating if I switch, if I want to finish up at LIIVF with my last 2 remaining frozen embryos, or if I want to go for a consult with Dr. Palter sooner, rather than later. Does anyone know if they will transfer my embryos from one facility to another? Thanks, everyone!

Dr. Palter - Gold Coast IVF?
I’m a Gold Coast patient for a year now. Very thorough testing led to needing surgery to repair 8 months ago. I am currently almost 6 weeks pregnant on my first IVF fresh transfer! So very thankful. The nurses here are what made the experience very positive for me. They are incredible. I’m going to miss them when I ‘graduate’ soon! Contrary to what others may say, I did find Dr. Palter himself to be compassionate. I suffer from migraines and he was always very caring when we had to get through that period of time. The patients are clustered though. I felt like I was surpressing longer than I had to just to sync up. That’s something I would definitely be more on top of if I ever needed to do another round. I had a good experience there. I had a successful fresh ivf transfer. However a terrible time with insurance.
Maxed out on my old insurance and new insurance does not cover his office and would have had to pay out of pocket completely otherwise I would have went back.

He’s the reason I have my twins and I owe him my life. He’s extremely thorough, I love the office staff and I got pregnant first time with him. I’ve referred 9 of my friends/ coworkers all got pregnant 1-2 cycles with him, Evan a coworker who saw 2 other specialist before him and 5 years of trying. He got her pregnant first cycle. He many not be warm and fuzzy but he knows his stuff

I am with Dr. K at LIIVF also, had my first FET fail, and prepping for my second embryo to transfer. I have had issues (fluid in lining) that caused me to cancel 2 additional cycles. I have found you need to advocate. I email Dr. K all the time and he always replies. I have told him my frustration and asked for my protocol to be changed, which he was open and willing to do. I love my nurse Mary Ann also. I will give it another go with my last embryo and hope I don't need to switch practices.
To answer your question about moving embryos, I went for a second opinion and the doctor advised me against that. She said in her experience it is best to thaw an embryo where it was frozen. She said it also takes a lot of time to arrange a transfer and it is not recommended if you can avoid it. I would recommend having another consult with him and share with him your frustrations. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you for your response! To be honest, I think I may have already made up my mind and want a fresh set of eyes to look at my medical records. In addition, after a miscarriage and 2 failed back-to-back FET's, anytime I have to go to the building for monitoring or for an appointment/procedure, I feel sad, defeated and hopeless. I think I just need a change, if for no other reason to reset my mind and mentality. I don't even have Dr. K's email, nor did I know that e-mailing the doctor was a possibility. Mary Ann is my nurse also -- I like her a lot, but in no way feel personally connected to her like we have a relationship. When you went for a consult elsewhere, did you bring your medical records with you? Was it hard to get them from LIIVF? Can you FM me his e-mail address? I would like, at the very least, to know the grades of my last 2 remaining frozen embryos. Thank you!

I too started at LIIVF. I did 3 rounds of Clomid IUIs. I knew I wanted to move onto IVF and that I didn't want to stay with LIIVF (I was seeing Dr. Peña in the Patchogue office).
I switched to Gold Coast and got pregnant on my first fresh cycle with a single embryo transfer. My son is now 8 weeks old. I really liked the office staff and the nurses were great, especially AnnMarie. Dr. Palter was fine--not the friendliest of doctors but he gave me my son so I'm forever grateful. He's very thorough before beginning treatments.

I'm a teacher and needed early too. They go by appt., it's not walk-in like LIIVF. I believe appts. started at 7:00 and of course it wasn't always easy to get that coveted first appt. Monitoring was usually pretty quick.
