Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
We are looking into these 3 for all inclusive in October. My daughter really wants to swim with the dolphins - which Aruba does not have.
Any insight on the others? I was told that Bahamas weather can be really "iffy" in October.
Jamaica pics of resort was beautiful, is it safe there? All the stuff with DR makes me nervous.

Re: Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
I hated Jamica. I didn't feel safe. There were armed guards with machine guns at our resort and barbed wire fences. I felt like I was in a prison. I wouldn't feel safe taking my child there at all. But that's just me.
I loved Aruba and the Bahamas was nice too. I think their weather is close to South Florida no? I have been to Florida in October and it's always nice and hot. And Bahamas is even further south so I doubt you'd have an issue. Just maybe hurricane season.

I'd go to Aruba and just snorkel. It is a great Island! Also check out St. Maarten. They might have dolphins.

Re: Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
Haven't been to Aruba yet. It is on my list. I only hear amazing things.
I liked the Bahamas but not in a rush to go back.
Wouldn't go back to Jamaica if you paid me. We stayed at Sandals and it was nice there at the resort, but the ride there from the airport, I was like hope we don't break down, we'll never be seen again. It was the cheapest of all of our vacations and I understand why.

Re: Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
I just went to Aruba on a "momcation" and got home last week. I went solo, but LOVED it. I stayed at the Renaissance, which has it's own private island, which is AWESOME and has Flamingos on the adult beach, but kids can visit it from 9-10am every morning. I went there every single day and just loved it. They offer an all inclusive plan, but most people don't do it from what I read. Aruba doesn't really have AI resorts. If you want to know more about the Renaissance, LMK!
Jamaica is meh. Didn't love it
Bahamas is fine in October, still HOT HOT HOT. You can swim with dolphins at Atlantis. I'm not a swimming with dolphins fan, but there's are supposedly rescued ones from Katrina. My daughter did do a "wake up the dolphins" thing there in February where they played with the dolphins, etc. It was cute

Aruba.
October is still hurricane season and Aruba is out of the hurricane belt so the chances of disruptive weather there are much lower.

Re: Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
I've been to Jamaica twice - once a cruise for a day and once at an all-inclusive with my BF at the time for a long weekend. I didn't feel safe at all and won't go back.
The Bahamas is just "meh" for me.
I like Aruba but I feel like it's so built up. However, because it is relatively safe, there's no need for all-inclusive and the restaurants are good on the island.
However, we jus got back from Curacao (right next to Aruba and part of the ABC islands). We LOVED it. It reminds me of how Aruba was 20 years ago. It was super safe, the people are so friendly, the restaurants are great, there's lots to do, it's a direct flight from JFK, AND it was literally half the price of Aruba. We stayed at the Renaissance there in an oceanfront suite, with breakfast, rental car and flight and it was $3100 per couple for a week.
There is an all-inclusive and a lot of the resorts have AI options but the island is so safe and easy to drive around with really good restaurants, that I wouldn't want to stay AI.
Oh and there is a place you can swim with the dolphins.

Aruba, Bahamas, Jamaica
I have been to all three but my favorite has to be Jamaica. We did stay in an all inclusive which I absolutely loved. Can't wait to go back. I never felt unsafe even with the drive to and from the airport. We did an excursion Dunns River and again felt very safe. I have been to Aruba very safe and loved it to just so expensive in my opinion. Bahamas not a big fan of.
Hope that helps.

I've never been to the Bahamas but I've been to the other two- I didn't care for Jamaica. I liked Aruba and I felt safe there.

I agree, Curacao is lovely. I also have been to Jamaica 4x. Never felt scared, I stayed in all inclusives. I had a blast everytime. Even when going off site to Dunn's River Falls and whatnot. The hotel put us with a reputable driver and it was fine.
