Being class mom while working full time
I am a teacher and was my daughter’s class mom in second grade. In my district, there are two class moms. I forewarned the teacher that I wouldn’t be able to come to the Halloween party. I always organized the food and activity for the party. The other class mom was in charge of the craft. It worked out beautifully. I wound up taking 2 half days. And I sent my mom and my place for the spring party. I’m going to be requesting to do it again. In this day and age, many class moms work full-time, both where I live and where I teach.

Being class mom while working full time
I work full time and I was the class mom last year. I have a very flexible schedule and am able to come to the school during the day. If you are able to come through flexibility at work or ok with taking days off to do it then I think it can work. If you can’t then I would tell the teacher that you are able to help if no one is able to be the class mom but defer to others if someone volunteers.

Re: Being class mom while working full time
I did this the last two years. It helped that my co-class moms (different ones each year) were both stay-at-home moms. I did lots of coordinating with them via text message. I don't think I could have done it solo though.
