I would think nothing of getting a text at 5am, because I'm smart enough to put my phone on silent at night. I have a home phone, so if it's an emergency, my family knows my phone number.

We don't have a home phone, so we can't be smart enough to leave our phones on silent

My SO's son also is emotionally disturbed and lives with his mother, so we do leave our phones on because he has had issues at night where we need to hear our phones.

So I guess it is a splitChat Icon

I also think it is rude because it WASN'T an emergency.

C'est la vie, maybe I just want softball season to be overChat Icon Chat Icon

But you can silence a text thread. If you know that she does this often then why not just put it so you don't get notifications for that one text chain.

Cuz it's not my phone, lol

Perhaps your SO is the one being rude then by not silencing the text thread when he knows people respond at all hours and it wakes you?

No. I wouldn't call. But texts are fair game.

You can silence just the notifications for texts, this way if someone calls it will still go through.. my phone also has an option to allow calls or text from certain people Even when it’s on do not disturb

Funny - I keep my texts on silent all the time, so I don’t find it rude at all.

I wouldn't do it. When I want to send a text at off hours I'll actually schedule it to arrive at a better time so as not to disturb the person I'm texting. You can text at 5am and still be considerate.

I'm not sure, I've always had an android so I don't bother anyone with my 1am musings, lol.

So if you can't do that on an iPhone then I'll give a pass.
