Looking for therapist
Hello, my mother is 63 years old and is struggling with some significant losses over the course of the last few years. She is having a hard time.I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good therapist. She has never been in counseling before. She lives out in the middle of Suffolk County.

Looking for therapist
Are you asking because you want her to see someone or is your mom requesting names

Looking for therapist
Passages Wellness and Counseling for Women. They're in Setauket. I've gone there since 2016 on and off dealing with PPD with my kids. They're fantastic.

...why does that matter?
ETA: OP, I’m sorry to hear your mom is having a tough time. I don’t unfortunately know anyone out that way, but know a few friends who are therapists in the Huntington area. Not sure if that’s too far.

it does matter, Giving some referrals and saying you need therapy because "I " think you need it vs the person wanting to go is two different scenarios, that is why I asked.

I could have written this post. My mom is 62 and lost her sister, brother in law, and girlfriend all within the past two months; the last two within days of each other. She desperately needs therapy. but me wanting her to go and her admitting she needs help are two different things.

kudos to her! I hope you find someone! I wish my mom would admit she needs help. she'd rather self medicate.
