Adding Aflac to healthcare plan?
I have this option this year to add it for myself as well as my husband. DH was VERY sick this year in the hospital for 4.5 months. He is home now (yea) and doing excellent! We do know he will need another surgery around may (to reverse the colostomy).
Anyone have aflac? What is it good for? TIA

Re: Adding Aflac to healthcare plan?
Just double check that you can add your husband due to his preexisting condition. I know that you can't get it while pregnant with the intention of using it for pregnancy...they say you can't make a claim for pregnancy within in the first 10 months of having it.
It actually says this- Disability caused by a Pre-existing Condition or reinjuries to a Pre-existing Condition will not be covered unless it begins more than 12 months after the Effective Date of coverage. ...
So just double check what the policy will cover before you purchase it.

Re: Adding Aflac to healthcare plan?
I've had AFLAC for years and have collected a few times on my disability policy.
I don't know what kind of plan you and your DH are looking into, but for disability plans, they will not cover pre-existing conditions for 12 months.
Like I said, I've had a policy forever and they are great when you need a backup - however, they are SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW to pay claims lately. You do eventually get paid, but the duck in the commercial who says they pay in one day LIES!
You have to stay on top of them when you submit a claim and their website isn't super user friendly, but they do make good on their policies.
