Nothing.

Same. The day we decided to stop exchanging was the most freeing day ever. Christmas is so much less stressful and less expensive now.
I buy myself presents all the time. I don't wait for Christmas for him to "buy " me something out of our joint bank account

My DH keeps talking about getting something for the Den TV but he’s such an audio snob, he’s gotta pick it out himself lol
Great idea tho

Re: Xmas - SO Gift

Nothing. We get what we need during the year, and we would rather save for adventures during our vacation.
DH is retired and I am working towards early retirement, so we are making sure to save enough for that by not buying stuff we don't need.
Plus, we just spent a small fortune on our cat's hospitalization. She's better now, but holy cow, the cost of emergency care.

Re: Xmas - SO Gift

we've moved into the world of getting each other things we need that we've been putting off.

SO will be receiving:
* sneakers
* flip flops (yes, we live in SoCal and wear flip flops year-round)
* dental work... read: i called the dentist, made the appt, and prepaid some of the work. now, he feels the obligation to go because the money has been spent.

An update to his wardrobe
Wireless ear buds
Fire pit
Some tool set thing he wanted
Poker set

And I'm toying with the idea of the weather tech mats her wants.

Love it! After posting I was thinking about it and looking into getting him some new luggage. He started a new job this year which requires some travel and our luggage is crap.

Xmas - SO Gift

We don't really buy gifts for eachother. Basically it would just be me sending him links of what I want and him sticking it in a gift bag so I can do that for myself lol.

We do give eachother one small gift, like $25 and under because we do a family opening on christmas eve and want our daughter to see we exchange. This year I got him a Han Solo bobble head and he got me slippers lol.

Re: Xmas - SO Gift

We stopped exchanging gifts once we had kids and now christmas is mostly about them but we try to get 1 small thing for each other that "santa" brings mom and dad. Last year I got him a sweatshirt and he usually gets me something like a calendar of the kids to bring to my job.

This is dh’s 5th Christmas (he’s from a country where they don’t have this holiday). He LOVES Christmas & the whole holiday spirit. We don’t have kids so we spoil each other & our cat LOL

I got him:
Dress shirts, 2 ties & a set of tie clips
3 play station games
Whiskey glasses & an ice cube tray that makes large round ice balls
Electric toothbrush
Workout shirts & gloves
Winter hat
Socks & underwear lol
Nike slides
Aftershave cream & face wash
Chocolates

I’ll probably also get him a bottle of whiskey.

Re: Xmas - SO Gift

Apple Air pods
a popcorn/popcorn seasoning kit
-another little thing that they kids will pick out.

I set a budget (and told DH) of $200 each this year bc sometimes my DH will get me something really expensive and I don't want him to get me anything big.
