Diorama Disaster....
Well not really- I just like alliteration
I need to help my DS make a Diorama of something from his community- where can I find like small trees, people, cars to use in the display- does Michaels carry that?

I'm not sure if you have a Hobby Lobby by you, but that's where we bought our supplies for his diorama. Any hobby store by you or maybe even AC Moore or Michaels. I'm not sure about those.
Even a train store would have those.
My son in 3rd had to do a Grasslands project so we got the animals and trees, etc at Hobby Lobby. In the train aisle is where we got the small trees and grabbed some small pebbles from outside and DH hot glued the pebbles in the shoebox too.

Yes. AC Moore and Michaels would have them. AC Moore is going out of business, so you may be able to find some stuff on sale. You can even try JoAnn's Fabrics. Any craft store should have them.

When is it due? Do you know anyone with a 3D printer? You may be able to print a lot of that stuff.
Of course, Amazon has tons of stuff under "miniature diorama accessories"

Diorama Disaster....
I would think any craft store would have what you need, but honestly I would do everything from scratch. Oaktag painted trees, bushes and then put a little fold on bottom to glue down, etc. It was always more fun for my kids and you save money. Some of these projects end up costing more than the learning experience is worth. We never had the best of the best looking projects, but it was always kid made and cheap. Some parents, not saying you, get so carried away and it becomes the parents ideas and project. Simple always worked best for us and my kids were never jealous of others more elaborate projects.

Here too! I was thinking the same, why don't they just draw and cut out what they need??? But I don't think kids today actually do the projects, the parents do for whatever reason.

Shoebox and Michaels will be your friend. And you don’t have to do it yourself, my son did on in K. You instruct on what they need to do without doing it. He colored it put the pieces where they wanted and picked them out.

Wouldn’t doing everything from scratch negate “simple?” I don’t think using store bought items takes away from learning, nor do I think it means the child didn’t do the work themselves.
OP, I agree with others, I’d check michaels and ac Moore.

Exactly and the child can still paint the inside and outside of the box. My son did a few when he was younger and one was under the sea or something. He painted rivers and stuff inside of it.
