taking a 15 month old to the OB with me- will it be a disaster?

I have my first OB appointment tomorrow. I'm going to have a sono. I have to take my 15 month old with me - sitter jsut cancelled Chat Icon . this is a kid whose vocabulary does not include the word sit still.
so- advice for not having this be a disaster? i'm going to brink snack for her.
second- the appointment is smack in middle of her nap time. should i put her down earlier? or regular time and wake her after 45 minutes? ugh, shes going to be so cranky

I did this all the time when I was pregnant with #2. Bring lots of activities and toys. I used to bring a few books so we could read while we were waiting and so he could look at them while the doctor was in the room. I used to bring a sippy cup and some snacks too. My DS loves cars so I always brought lots of those. Sometimes coloring books, anything to keep him occupied. And definitely bring a stroller and keep her buckled in! Good luck!

I could never get my DS to nap at a different normal time, but if you can get her to nap earlier, I'd try it.

I have had to take my DS with me to a bunch of dr. appt's lately. I put him in his stroller and bring lots of snacks, toys, books etc.

I'm dreading taking my 2 with me for my check up in January. I don't think the double stroller will even fit in the room????!?!?!?

I have been to NUMEROUS dr appts and everything went well. I always pack extra drinks, snacks, and toys. And he loves to play with the paper on the tables. Chat Icon

I've brought Marron to MANY doctor's appts with me. My trick to is to put her in the stroller and not let her out in the waiting room. I bring the portable DVD player and let her watch one of her movies. I also put the movie on for her in the exam room. The docs never object, and they understand. I've never had a problem.

ETA: as far as the nap, I think you might be better to keep her up. Maybe she'll fall asleep in the stroller for you and sleep through the appt. for you.

I did it this week. I have no choice. DS must come with me to all my Dr. appointments.
