Question about Airbnb in NYC
My daughter, SIL and grandkids will be visiting end of Oct - beginning of Nov. Since it will be 6 of them I can not fit everyone in my apt.
I was originally looking on Expedia for hotels and saw a bunch of airbnb's listed. Which I was pretty shocked at since I know they aren't legal in NYC unless the tenant is also staying in the apt or you rent it over 30 days. Just about everyone we would need states you would have the place to yourself.
The prices aren't much cheaper than a hotel but you get a lot more space and a kitchen.
I'm just nervous about doing it. It would be my luck the city would enforce the law and the reservation would get cancelled. Or some unreasonable explanation would leave us stuck. I've been known to stress myself out for no reason
Has anyone done airbnb in the city? What was your experience ?

Question about Airbnb in NYC
I wouldn’t. If it was just one person or a couple, but 6 people? Coming and going they will be noticed.
Also, in my travel fb page, I’ve seen at least 3x an Airbnb get cancelled for nyc and people scrambling to find hotels.

It would only be for 4 , I would have 2 kids with me. But you're right, I didn't even think of them being noticed.
And 2 properties I saw in our price range had reviews stating the reservation bwas cancelled and left them scrambling to find something else. That was a big concern also.
Ok, I think Im just sticking with the hotel room. I won't be so stressed over it.

Re: Question about Airbnb in NYC
property owners really enforce the no-airbnb law because they get serious fines. i would not risk it.
