Birthday party and Coronavirus

Ok guys give it to me straight... I have a bday party reserved for my son at Dave and Busters for 3 weeks from now... would you attend if you were invited?
My sister told me to cancel it because she doubts people would want to go because of what’s going on. I have no problem doing so, I just feel bad for my poor DS who is looking forward to it.
I didn’t even send out invites yet so it can be cancelled no problem. What do u think??

I’d go.

If you can find them you can give each kid a pack of antibacterial wipes to wipe their hands down after each game. And of course line them up for a good scrub before eating.

Re: Birthday party and Coronavirus

I was planning to have my son's at D&B's in May. I haven't booked it yet and now I don't know what to do. I'm so torn and feel for you.

We were out and about this past weekend with kids sports, in public places, etc. but I feel like daily this is freaking me out more. I'm kind of in a wait and take it 1 day at a time approach. I'm honestly 50% "OMG, we need canned goods" and 50% "You have to live your life, wash your hands"

As of now, we are still planning on attending gymnastics and stuff this weekend, 2 weeks from now honestly I don't know.

Re: Birthday party and Coronavirus

I would go, wait another week or two to see how your friends and family are feeling. We did my sons 10th bday party there and it was one of the best birthdays he’s had. Everyone, including the adults has so much fun.

I'd personally would go, but I can see how some would use coronavirus as an excuse to say no. You may want to invite a few extra kids just in case.

Re: Birthday party and Coronavirus

We went to my nephews birthday party this past weekend. They had one no show because the child came down with a slight fever, but everyone else attended .

Things are changing so quickly - I wouldn’t make a decision now. If things are as they are now I would go.

Re: Birthday party and Coronavirus

I would still go. Just make sure you all wash your hands before leaving. I always have my kids do that before we leave, even before all this.

I would wait a little bit longer to see... Things are changing day by day. If I had to give you an answer today - I would not plan on going to a Dave & Busters with my kids in 3 weeks. I think it will be "worse" by then with the number of cases and that is just a place that is always a gamble (the amount of kids and adults touching everything). If it was my kid's best friend - maybe. If it was a class mate.. no.

My DD was invited to classmate's bday party next Saturday at a kids play place, I was still planning on attending, haven't heard anything from the mom yet cancelling.

Birthday party and Coronavirus

My son's birthday is at the end of April and I haven't scheduled his party yet. I was thinking about skipping a big birthday party this year because of the virus. Who knows what will transpire in the next few weeks- month.

Birthday party and Coronavirus

I would not go. I have family in Italy in the Milan area and they said things are bad right now. That we are all taking this a little too lax, that we are nowhere near the peak of this and things will get worse before they even start to get better. I believe them. Things are going to be worse in a few weeks. I hope I am so wrong, but I don't think I will be.

I have a feeling in a few more weeks we will be in Italy's shoes and on lock down, so it's going to be a moot point. There will be no birthday party to host or attend.
