Anybody getting unemployment?
I applied for DH and I last week. Our first week of benefits is supposed to pay out this coming week and the website either isnt updated, or theres something seriously wrong. Its showing that they are only paying 4 days not 5 and the max payout is $504/wk. DH and I would both qualify for the max, but we both make significantly more then that and would qualify for more with the additional $600 that was supposedly added in the stimulus bill. I will be calling UE tomorrow to find out what the deal is.

See you guys then should be getting the full $600 in the bill and I think that’s right and fair.
Let us know how it goes though I have feeling your better off just waiting since I hear they are overloaded right now.
Also did they raise unemployment I was on it over the summer and my max payout was $450 if I remember correctly and I made significantly more than that

The way I understood the bill was that its an additional $600 over the max payout of $504. Either way, what is showing on the website is incorrect and I find it terrible that NYS didnt update it as soon as the bill was passed. Its just another thing for us to stress over.

Just an FYI unemployment is always based on a 4 day work week, that’s just how they do it. Hope you get the additional money quickly

Re: Anybody getting unemployment?
I have looked into this and from what I understand, the additional $600 benefit will start this coming week and be a separate deposit from your regular unemployment benefit. So if you normally get a $300/week unemployment benefit, you will get $900 total in 2 separate deposits. And so yes, many people will be getting more money than they normally would in their normal jobs, and some will still fall short from what they were making. Also, keep in mind that the $600 (as well as your regular benefit) will be taxed when you file in 2021.

You have the option for them to take those tax out now if I remember correctly

Still almost a week later trying to talk to someone for my child’s unemployment. It’s getting annoying.

Anybody getting unemployment?
Update: We ARE getting the full $600 regardless of actual earnings from work. Also, it looks like the $600 is taxed ($540 is getting deposited) and will be coming as a separate deposit. Its showing on its own line on the unemployment website.
