Little Fires Everywhere

All the actors are so good to watch. The story is great. And all the hints of 90's fashion has me loving it.

I am especially enjoying what feels like a grown-up Pacey ala Joshua Jackson.

Where are you seeing this? I read the book and didn’t really get the hype but I’d probably watch the series (is it a series)?

Finally saw this; actually the whole season in one night.

What's everyone's thoughts? While I understand both sides, each side is heartwrenching to say the least; looking at it from the outside.

Any ideas on how that fire started only showed in the first episode?

I love the show except for Kerri Washington and the faces she makes. I can't even look at her. Am I the only one??

Love anything with Pacey in it also!!! Him in his undies. Thank you.

Re: Little Fires Everywhere

I don't know the back story of the fire, but KW's faces Chat Icon - I feel the same - It's mostly sneering lips & squinting eyes. Am I the only one scrunching my brows every time she shutters to think? is that like, acting...but with your face?

I can't help but laugh because it's just so many facial micro-expressions.

I noticed it even more when they had a young version of her on an episode. She got them down pat, but dang, she must have had to practice those quirky faces KW makes a lot!

I love Reese Witherspoon in this role. It's like she was born to play this character.

I feel the same. Can't stand the faces KW makes; makes me cringe; probably because they are so B*tch-like.

I do Love Reese in this; she definitely is great playing this role!!

I’m assuming the storyline is the same as the book. I know it’s mostly very well liked but I kept waiting for something to happen. I felt like there was no real focus of the book, it felt all over the place and never really came together. I was so annoyed at the end, like there should have been a few more chapters. Did anyone else feel this way?

Ok I just noticed they added a 7th show. I thought 6th was season Finale.

Are they adding more?

Anyone know when the new season is starting?

I just started this yesterday - it's very engaging!

I'm so torn about how I feel. The woman gave up her baby so the baby could have a better life. Her circumstances still haven't changed much - she stole money from the till and she looks like she's barely surviving. How is it better to take her baby away from loving parents that can provide for her?

I'm confused - am I supposed to be happy that Bebe stole her child when she could barely make ends meet and is undocumented which means she'll have a really hard time moving from place to place?

i think you are feeling exactly how they wanted you to feel. i dont think there is a clear cut answer to how we should feel about any of this -- and that is the point.

agree! i'm so mad about that! the baby called Linda mama...she's her mama. you know Linda is never going to forgive her husband for telling her not to check on the baby.

I hate that Mia stole the other couples baby even tho biologically pearl is hers. that was so wrong.

Elena seems like she wants to do good but as long as it makes her look good. her poor kids.

i hate that its a series...i want to see what happens next!

does the book give me info or is that how it ends?

And I'm soooooo glad that the youngest daughter called out Moody when he was pissed that Pearl was dating his brother. She didn't like him - she doesn't owe him anything and his possessiveness was maddening. That kinda happened to me a year and a half ago. I met a guy on Bumble but I wasn't interested in him. I randomly met his friend and we realized that I went on a date with the other guy. So the guy I actually liked took a backseat b/c he didn't want to upset his friend. I was so offended b/c it's up to me to decide whom I like. There's no dibs!

I just finished the book. Pretty underwhelmed. Too many holes in the book that make it so implausible. I hate when authors just ignore details that make the story not work - especially a book like this with so much attention to detail in other ways.

For the poster above who asked, in the book , Izzy sets the house on fire by soaking all the beds with gasoline. Not sure if it’s the same on the show. Even though I didn’t love the book, I’ll probably watch the show - want to see how the characters are portrayed.

I read the book a while ago and I remember feeling the same way you did. It was getting such rave reviews and I just didn't care for it.

I watched the series yesterday. Binged all the episodes..lol And actually really liked it. So much so that I wondered why I didn't like the bookChat Icon

Good to hear you liked the show. I still haven't watched it. Almost done with Call the Midwife (I know - I'm way behind on shows lol but LOVE it!) and will watch this next
