Daycare changes

Just curious if anyones kids have been going to daycare or if they know changes that have been/will be occurring in their daycares?

DD Daycare actually never closed but she hasnt been there since March, and won't be going back til Sept (since one of us is a teacher).

I've seen some of the new "requirements" and was just curious if they were like statewide or if it goes center by center. For example, parents p/u and d/o in the lobby (makes sense), can't bring anything into the school (no cups, backpacks, toys), wearing masks at circle time etc.

Re: Daycare changes

My kids went back 2 weeks ago but they have been open this whole time so I've been following what they've been doing.

In the beginning the older kids had to wear masks but they stopped that about 3 weeks ago. Now only the staff wear them. The kids have to wash their hands immediately after entering the building.

We drop off in the lobby and are not allowed to enter the classrooms. They do temperature screenings at drop off. They are allowed to bring backpacks with their blanket and sheet for nap time, but nothing else. No more show and tell. They bring their own cups still.

I think they've been doing an amazing job of keeping the place clean and the kids safe and happy.

Thank you! Oh yes i forgot the temperature/health checks as well.

I know these seem like small things - not having your own cup/blanket, but to a 2/3 year old its a big deal!

Daycare changes

My kids went back this week. Really no changes other than I cant enter the class and must pick up at the vestibule. They close earlier for revved up cleaning procedures. There is a new sick policy. If they become sick.they must stay out for 48 hrs and must have doctor's note saying they may return. If they were sent home because of fever they must be out the 48 hrs and have a covid negative test to return

Mine. Parents are not allowed in the building. She gets her temp taken and hand sanitizer before going inside. A helper brings her to her classroom.

Pickup is like curbside for your kid.

She brings her own nap mat and water bottle every day. No outside food, though.

I would imagine some of these restrictions will be lifted by September so it might be very different from what all of us describe.

ETA the kids don't wear masks at all. They also do a lot of outside activities- story time, arts and crafts, etc.

Re: Daycare changes

My kids are allowed to bring their own stuff. My school aged kid brings his laptop for schoolwork, backpack, etc. They teach and help him with his work. My younger is allowed to bring a sheet and blanket for naps. We bring drinks, he is allowed a cup from home. No outside food though.

The staff wears masks, pick-up and drop-off are in the lobby. The sign in sheet has 1 time use pens. They disinfect after each parent. Temp checks and 20 questions basically assuring them that your kid (and everyone they've come in contact with) has no symptoms and you promise you didn't do anything to mask possible symptoms (like giving them Tylenol to reduce a fever). Other than picking up and dropping off, it's pretty normal for the kids.
