Spider Veins
All of a sudden, in the past year, I have developed HORRIBLE spider veins ALL over my legs. I went to the dermatologist who told me that he could do some treatment on them, but once I became pregnant, the veins would come back. His advice, wait till I was done having kids - which is in the FAR future. In the meantime, I feel horrible. I HATE my legs and don't know what to do. Is there a specialist who deals with this type thing? Does anyone else have the same problem? I am only 27 - too young to deal with this!!

Re: Spider Veins
I have a small area of spider vein on my right leg, but I have not gone for treatment because it's a small area. Because it is affecting how you feel and because you have a lot of it, could you do the treatment? I looked on webmd and saw that they can get worse when you get pregnant, like your doctor said, but since you know that you are not going to be done having kids for a while you may not want to wait that long. It's up to you if you feel it may be worth re-doing if they come back. You are too young to feel like you don't want to show your legs. It may be worth it to do it now, but that should be up to you.
Do you stand a lot for your job?

Re: Spider Veins
I have always had them They are hereditary. My mom had the procedure done to get rid of them. She said it was soo painful.
I can live with mine. They really don't bother me yet.

Re: Spider Veins
I can live with them. There are obviously worse things in life, but they just make me feel so insecure. I am hating my legs more and more. Unfortunately, I am on my feet ALL day (I am a teacher) and that surely doesn't help.
I would get the treatment, but like the doctor said, they get worse when you're pregnant. Since I am getting married in a few weeks, children are in the near future. I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars now to get this "fixed" to have them pop up soon after!

Re: Spider Veins
I had mine done at with saline injections 23 in the vein treatment center in Valley Stream by Green Acres. I am having my second baby, they are back worse than they were before. I am going all out after this baby and having something done because they are embarrassing... They are all red and purple and crawling up to my thigh. SO gross.

Re: Spider Veins
I know exactly how you feel!!!!! It is the worst! I won't wear shorts or shorter length skirts because of it. Not to mention that they are now spreading to my calf.
I guess I'll have to wait til I'm done having kids to have them treated - I'm so sorry they're back worse than ever for you!!
