Is anyone exercising and would anyone be interested in starting a Workout Log here?
I am still exercising, mainly walking and weights 3 - 4 times a week.
I used to post on the exercise board, but I would really like to post with other pregant woman who are exercising to exchange ideas, support, advice, etc...
Anyone interested?

I would love to! I haven't gone in a few weeks, because we are working on the house. But I will be going tomorrow morning or at least working out in my basement. This sedentary lifestyle is making me crazy!!!

ME, ME, ME!
I asked a while ago if anyone was working out and got little response!
I am finally adding walking, some weights, and a good stretch to my routine. Nothing compared to pre-preggo, but I feel great doing it!

me too! i used to work out almost everyday, but this summer i really didn't...and then i got pregnant! I'm afraid to really start anything now. I know I should at least walk... I've also heard swimming is great, but I don't really have anywhere to do that. I'd like to at least take a yoga class, but I'm having trouble finding a prenatal one.
Any suggestions for exercise or classes would be great!

Re: Is anyone exercising and would anyone be interested in starting a Workout Log here?
if you were not exercising, I would when in doubt talk to your dr.
Because of everything I went through early on, I am taking my workouts much lighter. I dont even think I could imagine running or anything high impact now anyway. Even when I walk I feel my belly I walked 4 miles last weekend and it left me exhausted, so now I just limit the walk to 30 minutes and it's is enough to make me feel great! I think a lot of it is taking it slowly and seeing how your body responds.

I think thats a great idea! I try to exersice on a stairmaster 3 times a week, and do yoga twice.
Though now that i am entering my third month, its becoming increasingly difficult.

I think yoga and walking is great. I didn't exercise before PG either, but felt the need as I was gaining weight uncontrollably. I take yoga now, and do the stairmaster - which is a cross link between running and walking - for 35 minutes. I talked to my dr. and he said as long as we don't over exert ourselves, its fine.

Re: Is anyone exercising and would anyone be interested in starting a Workout Log here?
Most doctors will tell you walking, swimming, and prenatal yoga are fine during pregnancy. You can do other things earlier on too, as long as you don't get too overheated. Generally, everything I have read says to take it down a notch if you normally work out vigorously and make sure your heart rate doesn't exceed 140 or so.
I take prenatal yoga once a week, and I walk an hour at least 5 days a week (though it's broken up). On the weekends I try to walk, but we just bought a house, and I've been pretty busy doing yardwork or straightening up the house. I'm 28 weeks now, so I'm finding I really can't do that stuff and exercise most days.

I think that's a great idea. I still work out 5x a week, mostly walking and biking, but also the stairmaster and elliptical. I find it very therapeutic.

How is everyone doing?
I have been walking on average 4 days, and strength training 3days.
I feel great. And was just thinking today about how great it feels to move the body!!!
I did realize that AM workouts (which used to be my favorite time) are no longer for me. Even with a bowl of cereal, I have not eatten enough and too tired to. Much better in the afternoon.

Re: Is anyone exercising and would anyone be interested in starting a Workout Log here?
I was doing 30 minutes on the elyptical until a month ago. (Gym membership expired)
Now I do toning exercises 5 days a week.
180 reps of arms with 4 lb weights.
180 reps of leg lifts with 5 lb weights.
120 counts forward stepping lunges.
60 calf raises.
60 leg pumps.
I don't know the technical names of these exercises.
