They go on pads unless we just go for a walk.
If we needed to walk them it would probably be 3 times a day.

In general, most dogs really need walks 2-3 times a day for about 15 each, for a good frame of mind for them (according to experts and the Dog Whisperer).

My mother walks her dogs in the backyard approx. 3/4 times a day. They go for a walk around the block once a day, maybe.

3-5 times a day. We'd prefer 3 but when she scratches at the door we take her out b/c it usually means there is business that needs to be taken care of, sometimes she cons us though

Right, Abby does too.
Thats why I wondering if she gets enough exercise. She usually goes for one walk a day...soemtimes just a block or two, sometimes long.
ETA- We do miss a day here or there.

We take Cooper into the backyard 3-5 times a day. He goes for a walks a few times a week... he's not really a fan of long walks, he'd rather do his business in the backyard and then run around like a banshee for a few minutes.

Mine runs around the back yard. She isn't a fan of taking walks she loves to run at home in the back...Prob around 3 times i would say

I feel like my guys run around the house like lunatics playing w/each other and making us throw their toys so they're getting enough exercise.
If they get on each other's nerves they go for a walk to expend some energy.
If your dog seems mellow, maybe the one walk is enough, if she's really hyper more walking would probably be ideal.

same here, but we let our dogs out to run around the backyard a few times a night.

at least 3 times a day. I'm not sure if I can see doing less than that even for a big dog unless the dog is working, like a seeing eye dog.

We actually WALK them maybe 1-2x a week. I know it should be more.
They go out in the backyard a couple times a day to play.

I was feeling awful that so many of you walk them so much. I'm with those who have paper trained their dog. Mine is a white maltese and he loves to run in the yard and then sit and dig... but he gets so dirty. He gets out once or twice a day when the weather is dry.... otherwise no.

we walk our dogs twice a day, once in the morning before work and once in the evening.
the morning walk is usually around 15 minutes, and the evening walk is usually about 30 minutes long.

We take Daisy out on the leash when she has to go outside to do her business. She usually just needs to go out 4-5 tmes a day.
She learned to go to the back door in the kitchen and scratch when she has to go out.
We take her on 2-3 walks a day for additional exercise. Once in the AM and twice in the PM. Unless it's hot and humid and then no walks cause it's bad for small dogs.

Usually 2-3 times a day we take her for a long walk. We don't have a fenced in yard and have to take her out on a leash to go to the BR.

We walk Marley 5 times a day for 15-30 mins. If the weather is nice, DH and I will take Marley on a longer walk for 45 mins - 1 hr. We also let her run around in the courtyard. She LOVES being off-lease!
