10 weeks and spotting: Sad UPDATE

I'm 10 weeks 4 days and have had light brown spotting since this afternoon. I spoke to doc and they said call back if red bleeding or pain, so far none of that. They said come in early Monday morning for a sono.

Anyone else experience spotting like this? I had none with DD.

I'm wondering if I did too much yesterday. Did major cleaning, moved some light furniture (while cleaning) and then danced at a wedding.

I'm very nervous but trying to stay optimistic.

Update:

I've had a miscarriage. We had a sono this morning and there was no heartbeat. The baby stopped growing around 7.5 weeks. We're disappointed and a little sad but having our happy bubbly little girl around makes it so much easier. We'll be at it again as soon as I'm clear to start trying so hopefully I'll be back here soon.

I have a D&C tomorrow. I'm looking to hear about anyone's experience with this procedure.

Question about D&C

Thanks!!Chat Icon

Re: 10 weeks and spotting

Sounds like you did too much yesterday and your body is telling you to rest Chat Icon Spotting is very normal, especially early on, so I am sure everything is okay! Good luck at your appointment tomorrow! Chat Icon

Hi.

From what I hear, the brown spotting could be indicative of old blood. It should not be an issue.

As long as there is no cramping or red blood, you should be fine.

Re: 10 weeks and spotting

This happened to me and it was after a day and night or not sitting and running around all day

i went to dr and to get sonogram and it was okay...DR said as long as it is not very heavy then you should be okay---its scarey though

This happened to me about 3 times between weeks 6-12. I am now 27 weeks. Old blood I was told.

Re: 10 weeks and spotting

You probably did too much. I had bleeding a couple times in my first trimester - once bright red and heavy!! And all was fine. I would guess everything's fine, it's fairly normal to spot. My DR actually told me 20% of women spot or bleed in the first trimester without any problems or complications. But I'm sure your sono tomorrow will reassure you! Chat Icon

Re: 10 weeks and spotting

I had some bleeding (red) at 11 weeks. My doctor's office told me to drink at least 1/2 gallon of water b/c that could calm an irritated cervix. The doctor had no idea why I bled, but she did a sono and everything was fine. I spotted a little for the next few days. I hope everything is ok. Chat Icon

I am so very sorry. Chat Icon The D&C was probably the easiest part of my loss. The pain is very minimal but the hormonal changes are hell. Chat Icon
