Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
I am talking like a small crocheted blanket (with "air holes" ) I think it will be ok but I am paranoid...I feel like Tommy would be more comfortable with a small blanket to cuddle with, esp now with the AC on...
I dunno... Opinions?

LOL!! Colin has had one in his crib since he was 6 months old. I never thought about it since it has all the holes.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
Both of my boys have used a blanket from day one. Rylan never moved from the position he was put down in so it worked out great. Xavier is all over the place so I do get a little nervous but we haven't had any issues.

Liam uses one. No problems.. It honestly only stays on him for about 3 minutes anyway.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
DD is 10 months and doesn't sleep with anything in her crib (no blanket, no pillow, no dolls, etc..) and we have the central air on all yr round. She probably won't have a blanket until she goes into a bed.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
DS wears a sleep sack to bed but there is also a blanket in there. He likes to snuggle with it. I use the sleep sack because we keep it pretty cool at night and the blanket NEVER stays on.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
Ive been using a blanket in the crib for a while when its cooler in the house. DS is 7.5 months and pushes it away and off of himself when he doesnt want it. I was afraid at first to but i watched him take naps and how good he was at pushing it off or making sure it never went over his face.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
Everyone will give you a different opinion on this. You have to do what you feel comfortable with that's the bottom line. Some people are ok with it and their DC's were fine and some people would rather follow the "guidelines" I have not given DS a blanket yet and he's 17 months. I will probably wait until he's 2. DS sleeps with the AC on too and I out him in footie pajamas with long sleeves.

Try it when he's napping when you can watch over him and see what he does with it.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
We started giving DD a crochet blanket at around 10 months old. She's done really well with it. Some nights she kicks it off, some nights she'll cuddle with it.
Like PP said, try it during a nap and see what happens.

Jen - I just posted about this last night. We have breathable blankets and he LOVES them for the stroller and the car, but I'm going back and forth about letting him have one in his crib overnight. He likes to snuggle with it and rub it on his face. he also sleeps in the fetal position, so I'm just afraid of him suffocating on it, even though they are "breathable"

Same here except I am the one that didn't like the sleep sacks-meanwhile I thought that I would never use a blanket and only use the sack.
The blanket is almost never on her by the morning.

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
my 10 month old DD has been using a blanket since she was 3 months old. She hated the sleep sack and hated to be swaddled, so blanket it was.
I tried the crocheted blanket, but her little fingers would get stuck in the holes....

Re: Blanket in the crib...10 months old...
The AAP says no blankets under age of 12 months. Use a sleep sack instead. I thought DS would be cold with A/C too, but turns out he's sleeping great with just jis jammies.
ETA: I thought DS hated sleep sacks too...and he did for a while. We tried them out when he was almost 3 months (I should say we re-visited them) during nap time and he finally took to it. If DC didn't like the sack initially try it again. Even watching him like a hawk I wouldn't feel comfortable. JMO.
