WDW Character Dining Dilemma UPDATE with decision

Originally I was going to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare to satisfy the princess dining exp. but I'm not sure how many princesses will actually be there...

But then I thought, maybe we should just do first thing in the am breakfast at Cinderella's table but here's my concern. What if it rains that day? Then I waste one of my 2 day passes on a rainy day at MK.

We will NOT be visiting Epcot.

What do you suggest?

IMO, you will get just as much time with a Princess at a meal than you will get when you go to the princess tent in MK. Maybe skip the meal and just do the tent??

Dining with the Princesses in the Castle was hands down the most special expience of Jordan's Disney trip when she was 2 1/2. I do not think the other princess meals we did were quite as special. There is something about being in the castle.

I agree. And I did that breakfast for my honeymoon. Chat Icon I don't know what they did for kids, but for us, we got two champagne flutes and prints of the pictures we took with Cinderella.

Be sure to call as early as possible to get reservations. They get booked VERY quickly.

We just did 1900 Park Fare 2 weeks ago. My DD went there dressed as Cinderella all done up from the Bibbity Boppity Boutique(worth every single penny we paid totally MAGICAL). There was Cinderella, the evil Stepmother, the 2 evil stepsisters and Prince Charming. It was a beautiful time and we got some great pics. But if you prefer more princesses than do the Royal Table. It was sold out so we couldn't get a reservation.

1900 park fare is only dinner (breakfast is Mary Poppins, Alice and Mad hatter)- it is ONLY Cinderella NO other princesses - the prince, step mother, and step sisters also go. I hear they DO act their part so keep that in mind.

The castle is an experience in and of itself.

My personal favorite from our last trip was Akershus (you get a photo with one princess and meet 4 others - and EPCOT has a TON of meet and greets with all the princesses esp ones you don't see at MK) but you said no EPCOT so that isn't a consideration.

Re: WDW Character Dining Dilemma

1900 Park Fare is hilarious, but as was mentioned, Cinderella is the only Disney princess that appears.

My daughter actually prefers Akershus to the castle, but both offer a great expderience. I would certainly choose Cinderella's Castle over 1900 Park Fare for the full princess experience, however the cancellation policy will pose a problem if you are concerned about the weather.

with the closing of Toontown, the princesses are now located at Town Hall, near the very beginning of Main Street. If you're not going to Epcot, this is your best opportunity for some princess time if you don't want to chance the meal reservation.

I decided to dine at the castle and get a 4 day pass to see all 4 parks (for only $75 more) and if it rains, we'll forego Epcot and spend 2 days at MK Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for the input!

If you are already going to Epcot..I also suggest Akershus - it is their Princess dining...you feel like you are in a castle with all the major princesses at half the price!

Def recommend!

Agreed! And with the cost of your meal you get a picture with Belle.

We really enjoyed this meal when we went back in Dec!

ETA: we saw Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, and Snow White. Excluding belle they all came around to each table, took pics with the kids and signed their books. And they did a little parade with the kids around teh restaurant

The castle for a meal will be a fun treat!

If you are going to hit EPCOT - please reconsider the Akershus for a meal (they do breakfast, lunch and dinner). They DO rotate princesses so you don't know who you will get - but you get a family photo with one of the princesses (ours was belle). We had a photo with Belle then 4 princesses come around. For us - we had cinderella, Ariel, Aurora and Snow White. It was great!!! DD#1 still remembers it (we went May 2010 and talks about it). You could always make a reservation and cancel it if you decide to not go to EPCOT - you can cancel 24 hours before.
