Now That’s Smart: A Grant To Help Suffolk County Community College Invest In The Future

Suffolk County it seems is full of smart ideas as it gears up to give higher education a brand new look. Officials report that Suffolk Community College is set to receive a $3 million state grant for capital projects which will enable to college to undergo a facelift including renovation in athletic fields, irrigation, drainage, paving, and safety lighting.

Additionally, the college can look forward to improvements to its music department space; new instructional equipment for the Islip Arts Building and the finalization of the Veterans Plaza renovation project including the Ammerman campus in Selden, significant overhaul to the Shinnecock Building Lecture Hall at the Eastern campus in Riverhead and a state-of-the-art nursing lab for the Riverhead Downtown Center, giving the community, the students, and the faculty a cutting edge learning center that is academically, technically, and aesthetically pleasing.
